Going with the sox tonight at -127 with wake on the mound.

With Ortiz back and a confidence win under their belt from last night I think this is a good price all things considered.


My only concern is that Manny was out last night with "flu symptoms" but hopefully he'll at least be able to DH.

god damn it Jay, I was looking at this also. we have to nail one these low chalk sox plays. I knew the sox would win with pedro last night but at -200, means nothing to me. the sox desperatley need this win here. wake said the tampa game where he fell behind and the offense went out and got the lead made him pitch better, and he did. . .after seeing a guy like pedro pitch, and then dealing with a knuckler the next day, it could really screw these detroit hitters up.. .the thing that concerns me is sox vs. a lefty, but robertson has been pitching like crap and he relys a lot on getting K's

Yes, Robertson is a decent strikeout pitcher and today he gets the ALs windiest Windmills with the Sox on the road vs LHP (almost 8 whiffs per game).

Add in the Tigers going up a bit versus RHP and we think this is a great spot to play DET +1.5 (-135).

Let's get a one run finish and we all CHING!

I took sox @ -135 (awful price). .I won't lie. . I think they finish up the road trip on a high note and wake gets his 3rd straight. Tigers have dropped 5/6

Loaiza did allow quite a few runs in his first outing with the yanks but I am guessing it was just the nerves.

I doubt he will do so bad this time but at +110 +1.5 I will cross my fingers and hope... Hope that a change in power on the toronto bench translates into a win (or at least a close one) right off the bat.

Im gonna hold off on tampa for now to see what the line does over the course of the day but its a huge number now and I hope it goes up...

My reasoning on Minny is the basic fact that they are the home dog and it helps to know that Lohse was able to log a decent win in his last outing against anaheim (after getting pelted by the sox for 7 runs in 4 innings the start before). Also after 18 innings (through which oaklands pen spent 8.1 innings of their top relievers, and Minny spent only 3 innings of that category) the way their pen shape up today may be very important...
