Want nothing to do with either the Phillies or Brett Myers as the chalk and will gladly step in against them. Myers has just three wins in his past 12 starts and that includes blowout losses to the Mets twice, in which Myers surrendered 10 earned runs in nine innings. Myers has had just three quality starts in his past 10 games and all three came at pitcher friendly parks, Los Angeles, San Diego and Wrigley. Get this hurler in a hitter’s park like Citizen’s Bank and it’s just something bad waiting to happen. Myers is 2-6 at home with a 6.13 ERA. Dude has been torched at home where he averages 4.2 innings per start. His confidence is at an all time low and the team he plays for is in a bigger funk then him. Phillies have dropped eight of nine and have looked ugly in doing so. This dog is extremely live and any take-back against this host and pitcher right now has got to be considered a gift. White Sox are finally showing a little sign of life, however, that’s not going to deter us from investing money against them. Fact is, John Garland will get the ball for Chicago and seldom does he give up less then five runs a game. At home, Garland is 3-5 with a 5.27 ERA and over his past three games his ERA is 5.40. Give him credit for consistency, he can be counted on to allow, as mentioned earlier, about five a game. Tigers will respond with Wilfredo Ledezma, who makes just his fourth start of the campaign. As a starter, in 13.2 innings, he’s allowed just seven hits and three earned runs for an ERA of 1.98. That includes a five inning stint against the Rangers in his second start of the year in which Ledezma limited Texas to just two hits and one earned run. Additionally, Ledezma is a southpaw and the White Sox are just 13-25 against lefties this year. Play Detroit +1.25 (Risking 1 unit).
