I'm gonna try something a little different - although it still involves a red sox fade I picked up on what looks like some good prices on some uneven pitching matchups

The more I think about it this Jays pick was rediculous in that I laid in the -1.5

I dont think the jays have ever won by 2 have they?

anyway they have the lead so maybe I'll at least break even on it...

Tro. Was the play tonight. Even if they don't win ya got 1.5 runs to play with. This a good play in my opinion. Hope ya hit it.

close but no cigar

I was pretty close with Lilly avoiding the loss - however in the end the better team won yet again.

So far its +2.48 on Seattle and -6.15 on the other losers... a net loss of -3.67

Mets +112
Mets -1.5 +161

Mets are currently tied so if they lose I will end up -5.67 on the day
- if they win by 1 then I would end up -3.55
- if they win by 2 I will end up only -0.94 on the evening...

no matter how you slice it this was not a very good night.

Forgot Fatman Ponson
Baltimore +124
Baltimore -1.5 +254

my chalk plays I think are realtively self explanatory - I liked seattle last night and tonight as well for similar reasons comparable pitchers but seattle has the better O and I think clemens is underpriced because lidle has a decent ERA vs Houston.

As for the dogs - I am taking the rare yankees play with them as a dog, as word on mussina seems to be pretty good regarding his road to recovery and ponson has picked up his level of play drastically - also after last nights 11-0 home humiliation I have to think that baltimore will come out with a little chip on their shoulders tonight...

also mussina "owns" the twins - I only hope this is not where they get their revenge...

If the past is any indication, Mike Mussina won't have to do much in his return from the disabled list to baffle the Minnesota Twins.
After sitting out nearly six weeks due to right elbow stiffness, Mussina will make his return to the New York Yankees' rotation when they continue their series at the Metrodome.

Mussina has not pitched since allowing seven runs and nine hits over six innings in a 9-1 loss to Detroit on July 6. The 35-year-old right-hander went straight to the DL and has gone through a deliberate rehabilitation program.

``He feels confident he's ready to go,'' Yankees manager Joe Torre said of Mussina, who is 9-6 with a 5.20 ERA in 18 starts this season.

Torre is giving Mussina every chance to succeed in his return as he juggled his rotation so the veteran ace could face the Twins, a team he has owned throughout his career.

Mussina, who is expected to go no more than five innings Wednesday, is 20-2 with a 2.77 ERA in 24 career starts against the Twins, including a 10-2 mark with a 2.84 ERA at the Metrodome.

Even though Mussina has dominated Minnesota, the Twins may have the edge in this pitching matchup because manager Ron Gardenhire will give the ball to Johan Santana.

The 25-year-old left-hander has been arguably as good as anyone in baseball over the last two-plus months, going 10-2 with a 1.66 ERA in 13 starts. He has struck out 129 over his last 97 1-3 innings, and has pitched at least seven innings 12 times during his surge. He has allowed just 47 hits during that span.

``I always trust myself and the things that I can do, but I also trust my teammates,'' Santana said recently. ``I trust that we're a team and that's all that matters.''

The Twins ended a 13-game regular season losing streak to the Yankees with an 8-2 win on Tuesday. Corey Koskie went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and right-hander Brad Radke shut New York down over seven innings.

Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter went 1-for-5, extending his hitting streak to 17 games.

Starting off with:

Cleveland -109 (pinny)

Westbrook has be superb lately and I think this line is almost too good to be true - going against a somewhat slumping lohse I would have guessed this line would be a lot higher than this - although its possible that westbrook is due for a loss or a no decision after winning an amazing 5 of his last 6...

the last meeting between these two was just their last start when cleveland mustered 4 runs in the first and went on to win 7-1.

Hoping for a similar outing this time.
