This texas lineup has put up good numbers and they recently went through a stretch vs Tampa, cleveland and KC where it looked like they just couldnt lose a game - however since returing home from KC they have split a series with minnesota and today apparently will be dropping erickson in favor of wasdin who has not pitched in the majors for a month.

Bedard for the Os has been shaky himself notably getting rocked by toronto and expelled from the game in 2.2 innings after giving up 6 hits and 7 runs.

prior to that outing he had put together 3 decent outings - yet only resulting in one win (when his team decided to hit a little (vs texas when they won 9-1. He may well be done if he gives up a blunder today - but however shaky he has been - he has at least been consistent in one regard, that he'll throw a couple of crappy games and come back for a few games with a decent outing. I'm betting that this will occur today after the texas lineup had an easy time out last night vs Mulholland.

I am not saying the Os are "due" for a win - because following that theory a few games ago I RElearned that lesson, all I am saying is that this is probably their best chance to win in a while - and the law of averages at some point will rear its crafty head.

Wasdin for Erickson

The Rangers are planning to add John Wasdin to the rotation today and drop Scott Erickson.

Erickson, who has been in the bullpen the last three games, will likely be designated for assignment. The Rangers may try him in Triple A for the next couple of weeks to see if he can get straightened out for the stretch run.

"Everything is up in the air," Erickson said. "Other than, that I don't have anything to say.".

Wasdin made six starts for the Rangers earlier this season, going 1-2 with a 7.76 ERA before being sent back to Triple A Oklahoma.

The Rangers are promoting right-handed pitcher John Hudgins to Triple A Oklahoma to replace Wasdin. Hudgins was the Rangers' third-round pick in the 2003 draft and was 5-3 with a 3.13 ERA at Double A Frisco.

GL Jaypaw with the O's...I just can't see going with a team on a losing streak like that "hoping" you pick that game they end it on. I see many more games of better quality out there, but I am hoping you NAIL IT and prove me wrong!! GL bro!

woah take it easy on me

I'm not only hoping - The numbers on wasdin are aweful and though bedard had a bad start last time out and very well may give up a few runs himself, the bet I'm making is against wasdin

he may very well have torn up the minors (stats which I am still waiting for) but viagara man is .429 lifetime vs wasdin (14AB), and Surhoff is .455 (11AB).

bedard on the other hand - though he hasnt seen texas much (if not only the once this year) did meet them and few starts ago and logged 6.1 good innings allowing only one run.

From whats there to go by I like the Os...

Thanks for rooting for me - I need to get out of this slump bad.

Jaypaw-This is a bullpen game if i ever saw one. Bedard is just as bad as Wasdin. Walks quite a few batters. Probablt a lot of runs in this game. Good Luck!

I did think about the over as a possibility - but if Bedard was able to keep these guys to one run the last time he faced them, how many could he possibly give up this time? I can't imagine more than a few but I would like to know how he gave up 6 hits and 7 runs in his last outing vs toronto...

that said Wasdin could likely reach the over on his own

I just realized that Baltimore swept texas when they met earlier this month...

this doesnt bode well for my law of averages theory - 6 in a row against any team is difficult to imagine when a team is able to drop 10 in a row.

Going to stick to what got me ahead in the first place - taking big plus money.

Bonderman tomorrow vs Pedro is at +261 @pinny right now and I'll take it...

Manny may not play and who knows the status of Foulke - today he didnt close because he had a sore back. Good thing about manny because he is 4 for 5 vs bonderman, whereas Ortiz is 1 for 6.

With Mueller's status uncertain (twisted his ankle last night), and Mientkiewicz in a similar situation (with a shoulder injury that happened Thursday), then Manny and Foulke both out this may be prime time for a few games of letdowns from our beloved bosox.

Lets hope so - before my streak becomes as bad as baltimore's...

Mientkiewicz's status is not as uncertain as I thought

at least according to rotoworld it says the sox "hope" he can return next week.

I doubt manny will play tomorrow so I would guess that Roberts Damon and Kapler will split OF duties in some way or another, and Ortiz will DH with Millar at first (or vise versa?).

Bellhorn at 3rd and Gutierrez at second doesnt get much better for a fade OP. Heres hoping that bellhorn's bat doesnt keep up the 2 fer 5 pace that it has mustered over the past 2 nights.

Until the Os (or I) win a game I'm gonna stay in this thread as it is fitting...

0-1 -1.0
YTD 83-103 +14.98

Going with the O's yet again - facing a largely untested Young.

Also gonna take the tigers yet again at +172. With Manny out the sox have a chance to lose. Oddly Mueller and Mink both made it into the lineup - but not foulke.

Baltimore +125
Tigers +172
