I'll pick the Giants-

Ortiz has pitched 10.1 innings with a 0-1 record and an ERA of 8.71 vs. the Giants. Ortiz hasn't lost a game since 6/20 and I believe he is due for a loss.

the "he is due" theory will send ya to the poor house. not saying the giants are not the play. but definitely do not base your decision on the fact that he is DUE.

Winner75, It says here that the GIANTS will win tonight. Ortiz has given up 16 runs in his last 17 innings. GIANTS are a good, well coached team and will fight like hell to win tonight. A victory ties them with the CUBS in the wild card race. The price is beautiful +165 (ATL-185 at wwts, same #'s at many books) A team that is on fire, at home and sends their ace (Ortiz) to the mound against a career 3 start rookie (Hennessey) and they are only -185. If the books really thought the BRAVES were a sure thing the # would be much higher. The truth is they don't want to pay you any more than +165 on a winner. Don't be afraid to pull the trigger, we see game after game where these type of dogs win. Godspeed, thepig.

Who's ERA is 4.61?
If its tea pitchingt hat doesnt have a lot to do with the starter and those likley to come in as relief - in fact it has more to do with the ERA of the other 4 starters for eaither team than it does with who will be up today...

It might be relevant that ortiz got shelled in his last outing vs SF however that was 4 months and about 25 starts ago.

Ortiz hasnt done that well lately allowing plenty of runs over his last 5 outings yet suprisingly not getting a single loss.

Hennessey has not given up much over 3 starts this year but there isnt much to go by on him.

SF hasnt been swepot for a while - though with only 3 starts to go by I dont know how safe it would be to put money on hennessey

despite the 6 hits and 3 runs within 4 innings - hennessey has manged to log yet another "held his own" performance

Ortiz is sinking fast...

Congrats if you went with the Giants.
