Curious to know how you feel / what you think of the fact that these 2 teams have played under in 7 of the last 8 meetings this year.

Is the particular umpire more important than the history of the 2 teams?

Keep up the FANTASTIC work with your posts....

i would say the ump IS more important. if he has a postage stamp sized strike zone - this means more walks and more hits since the pitchers have to toss the ball waist high over the middle of the plate - and ANY MLB hitter can crush those.

i agree EVERY stat/trend says play UNDER - but when an ump goes over the total 80% of the time - hard to buck that stat.

Especially this time of the year. The ump has established his tendencies with his trends. He's not likely to change things this late.

These 2 teams were under by only 1 run in each of their 1st 2 games in this series so it's not like they don't have a chance to go over.

it's still early in the game, but after 2 innings, not looking really good.

both teams have 1 walk each and both pitchers are looking great - like it will be a 1-0 game not 11-10

as i said - it is early - but..........

in your heart, you know i'm right

FWIW ... Shreiber has been an "over" umpire ever since he entered the big leagues 7 years ago. His lifetime record is 125-94, which is a far cry from 80%, but it still ranks him 4th out of 80 umpires in my rankings. I also had the over in this one, mostly due to Shreiber behind the plate. 3-2 thru 3 ... looking better.

When I looked up P. Schriebers history this year I saw that he had umpired in a Redman game back on May 7th against Minn. In that game there were 20 walks issued. Redman issued 3 walks and allowed 6 hits and 5 runs in 5 innings. Joel Santana issued 1 walk with 7 hits and allowed 5 runs in just 4 innings. The final score in that game was 11-9.
Big One, when I post I'm not giving out a pick. I'm just stating the facts about the umpire.
