MLB : 2* BALTIMORE

These teams had respective streaks broken on Sunday as the Twins were lit up 12-3 by lowly KC putting a halt to 5 straight wins. The Orioles were looking to sweep the mighty Yankees in the House That Ruth Built but after Rafael Palmiero drilled a 2-out 3-run HR off of Javier Vazquez in the 1st inning the right-hander settled down and kept Baltimore in check for 6 innings.

Jorge Julio struck out 3 all-stars on Friday night but walked Jorge Posada with the bases full and 1-out in the 9th inning for the Yanks win. Baltimore had won 6 straight games prior to Sunday and they’ve got history on their side in this series.

Since 1997 Baltimore has a 24-8 record at home against the Twins and today the 6-7 right-handed Daniel Cabrera will try and help his team add to their success. Baltimore has won 11 of his last 15 starts.

The Twins come into the Charm City losers in 8 of their last 13 on the road and that includes 3 of the last 4 games with Terry Mulholland away from the Homer Dome.
