Any idea who is stepping in for Boller @ Cal? It's always tough to get an idea of how teams are going to play going into these "showcase" games that they play before the 'real' season starts for them.
How awful! did Maryland look last year against ND. I think they had like 28 yards of O at halftime.

My early opinion of this game is that State is gonna roll one up on them. Is there a such thing as a first game of the year statement game? Don't worry about them looking ahead at all either (I saw the post pointing out blow off early games), KSU plays Troy State in week 2 so they can aford to play balls out against Cal. This one could get ugly in a hurry.

Best to jump on line early? I have a feeling the public is probably going to bet up KSU. If the guy off the street bets strictly off of rankings, there will be a lot of square money on the wildcats.

Good luck to all this year, and I can't wait for CFL and NFL to get rolling for real. CFL=College Football, not those jokers in Canada!

I think Cal wil be a .333 spread team. They overachieved last year with a lot of breaks. I see a sub .500 staright up record and sub .35 spread record.

I and others have posted a little about this game, and I dont want to make it sound like the game of the century, but I have learned my lesson with taking the big dogs at KState. I told myself last year that I would no longer bit on those big dog lines as long as Snyder does things the same and has similar talent. I'm a lot more worried about sharp action pushing this line a few points than the public, who generally bets pretty close game time. I dont think I'll even try any sort of middle on this one. I will look at first half, 2nd half and full game wagers, and for me it's either a play on the Wildcats or pass. If anyone is looking at a play on Cal, I'd love to hear that argument, I'm not very strong on the Pac10.

The primary reasoning for me is KState's offense versus Cal's defense. KStates defense should be above average, and I'll look at this more tomorrow. I also need to look more at Cal's offense, I assume Cal's defense should be average to below this year?

ATX and Birdman..
Gotta hope everyone one is not coming in on the same side in this game. I know it is the kiss of death when 100% of the people think/do one thing (side or number). Gotta hope there will be some support for Cal out there. I just see this as a Wildcat cake walk.
Let's hope it plays out that way. Gotta jump on this one early.
