Texas coach Rick Barnes let Brian Boddicker feel his concern for a week after the senior forward grabbed no rebounds in a loss to No. 9 Arizona.

"He was on me all week," Boddicker said. "It worked pretty good."

Boddicker grabbed 12 boards to go with 16 points as the No. 6 Longhorns used Sunday night's 89-55 win over New Orleans in Austin as both a rebound game from the Arizona loss in New York and a tuneup for Saturday's return trip to play No. 4 Duke.

Known more for his 3-point shooting than his rebounding, the 6-foot-8 Boddicker went inside for most of his points against the Privateers (3-1) and finished with his second career double-double.

P.J. Tucker had 17 points and Brandon Mouton scored 15 for Texas (5-1), which extended its home winning streak to 20 games.

No. 4 Duke 84, Portland 43: Reserve Luol Deng scored 15 points and the Blue Devils (6-1) held the Pilots (5-2) to three first-half baskets in Durham, N.C.

Deng came off the bench for the first time this season, but the freshman didn't miss a beat, scoring 11 of his points as the Blue Devils built a 28-point halftime edge. Duke extended the nation's longest home winning streak to 31 games.

No. 7 North Carolina 64, Akron 53: Rashad McCants had 14 points and Sean May had a Smith Center-record 21 rebounds to lift the Tar Heels (6-0) past the Zips (3-2) in Chapel Hill, N.C. UNC is off to its best start since going 8-0 in 1998-99.

Even so, coach Roy Williams blasted the Tar Heels for poor shooting and "pathetic" defense. UNC shot 38 percent, including 24 percent in the second half, the worst half for the Heels since at least the 1979-80 season. May finished with 10 points on 3-for-18 shooting.

No. 12 Saint Joseph's 92, Drexel 70: In Philadelphia, Jameer Nelson scored 24 points, Delonte West added 20 and Chet Stachitas had a career-high 14, all but two on 3-pointers, for the Hawks (7-0).

Sean Brooks scored 22 points and Tim Whitworth had 14 for Drexel (2-4), which lost to the Hawks for the 14th straight time.
