Matt, you have been invited to post in the "top capper" thread, for Monday. If you would like, go ahead and do so.

Thanks,
JP

I don't know if that is supposed to some sort of a knock on me or what Sound of Silence, but I said in the thread that after 100 plays if I was at 58% or so, that right now I haven't proven a ton I guess. But also you can check NBA and noticed I had a heck of season with over 200 plays. 38-25 is over 60% though, that isn't too bad is it?

I can vouch for SOS and tell you it was intended at me, not at you. Don't take offense to it. You are clearly an assett and, as stated, I would invite you to post in that thread. Let's get on board.

Thanks Jaypaw, even though the twins were a month early, they are both healthy and almost 6 pounds. Sadly there were twins born right before them that were only around 2 pounds that got sent right to Riley Childrens Hospital.

Not a knock at you at all Matt, as you aren't touting yourself as one of the elite. You may very well be one of the elite handicappers, I'm just pointing out that a system that designates someone a "top" or "elite" handicapper after 63 games certainly is not doing a lot to seperate the wheat from the chaff (if I got that expression correct).

If I ran off a 40-25 record and was invited to an "elite" posting group, I'd certainly question it.

But again, not direct at you as a handicapper -- you're winning, thats all that matters.

PROVIDENCE -3

Pitts joke of a preconference schedule.

1/3/2004 William & Mary W 70-55 L -26 - N
12/30/2003 Georgia W 76-55 W -10.5 - N
12/27/2003 New Hampshire W 52-38 - N - N
12/22/2003 Florida St. W 63-56 L -7.5 - N
12/20/2003 Murray St. W 70-49 W -9 - N
12/17/2003 Chicago St.(N) W 79-51 - N - N
12/15/2003 Georgetown (KY)(N) W 79-74 - N - N
12/13/2003 Youngstown St. W 57-42 L -24.5 - N
12/6/2003 Penn St. W 64-37 W -20 U 133.5
12/3/2003 @Duquesne W 59-45 W -12 - N
11/28/2003 Albany - NY W 83-54 - N - N
11/26/2003 Robert Morris W 75-61 - N - N
11/22/2003 St. Francis-Pa. W 90-69 - N - N
11/14/2003 Alabama(N) W 71-62 P -9 O 130

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That is terrible.

Providence's preconference schedule

1/5/2004 Texas L 77-79 L -2 O 150.5
1/3/2004 @Virginia W 84-69 W 2 - N
12/28/2003 Siena W 73-66 L -19.5 - N
12/23/2003 @Richmond W 57-56 P -1 - N
12/21/2003 Central Conn. St. W 72-67 - N - N
12/9/2003 Illinois(N) W 70-51 W 6 U 148
12/6/2003 @Rhode Island L 79-89 L -2 O 0
12/2/2003 South Florida W 84-60 W -13 - N
11/29/2003 Alabama W 76-71 L -12.5 - N
11/22/2003 Hofstra W 69-56 W 19.5 - N

Much stronger for Providence. Pitt's record is padded every year because of the cupcakes they play at home.

MICHIGAN STATE -2

First of all, let me say how much I love these two teams and I cannot wait to see them play in the NCAAs, it is very likely I will play both of them early and often. I am of the group that feel the Big 10 will make a strong showing in the Big 10 this year. Me and Steve Lavin that is, definately not Vitale or Bilas (MSU, ILL, WIS, if someone else wins the Big10 Tourney too, they could shock someone) Both of these teams play tremendous defense and great half court offense, 2 things that are huge for the NCAA tourney.

Wisconsin is a strong, strong team and one I will likely have in my final 4 in my brackets due to their great all around team. If this team wouldnt have lost Alondo Tucker to a medical redshirt at the start of the season, they would be a top 5 team I think.

Wisconsin though has not played a strong schedule this year and they have only played 10 road games all year. They are a super 4-6 ATS in these games. Not too great. They were beaten by Northwestern by 18, Michigan by 12, and Illinois by 8 in 3 of their last 4, they also beat Iowa by 2, where they opened as 2 pt favs but moved to 4. (They did get backdoored bad that game, I had wiscy -2)

MSU is 7-0 SU and 5-2 ATS in the Big 10, those 2 losses are by a combined 2.5 points. MSU shoots the ball so well that they are hard to beat. If they get open, they will win. MSU has always had something that noone else seems to have, they always have that midrange game. This year Torbert, Anderson, Ager, and Hill to a lesser extent(Hill stays outside more this year it seems), in the past they have had Richardson, Chapell, numerous others in the last 4 or 5 years, I swear MSU has this type of game that noone else does and it leads to that high percentage, the midrange game is a shot that the entire country has forgotten how to shoot, but MSU can stroke it.

MSU can wrap up a share of the conference title with an impressive 13-3 record in the Big 10. I would feel comfortable laying 4 in this.

Unranked Favorite angle over ranked underdog also at play here

Michigan St and Providence will be it for me today. Still waiting to get down on Providence, it went to 2.5, but then thought I could get to 2, but now back to 3.
