HI GUYS! HAVEN'T POSTED IN A WHILE HAVE BEEN REAL BUSY WITH WORK AND OTHER THINGS, JUST WANTED TO SHARE SOMETHING WITH EVERYONE.
LAST NIGHT I GOT A PHONE CALL FROM SOME CLOWN CLAIMING TO REPRESENT "SMOKIN DAVE COKIN IN LAS VEGAS". I ASK HOW HE GOT MY #, SAYS IT WAS ON HIS LEAD SHEET. HE OFFERS TO GIVE ME A BASEBALL GAME THAT COKIN IS PERSONALLY GOING TO PLAY FOR SIX FIGURES. HE CAN'T CALL IT A LOCK BUT HE SAYS YOU KNOW THE KIND OF GAME I'M TALKING ABOUT. ALL I HAVE TO DO TO GET THIS GAME IS PAY $450 AND I'LL GET THE GAME, THE NBA THROUGH THE PLAYOFFS,AND BASEBALL FOR TWO WEEKS. I CAN'T HELP TO THINK, WOW WHAT A BARGAIN (LOL).

I ASK IF THIS GAME IS SUCH A SURE THING AND DAVE IS BETTING SIX FIGURES WHY DOES HE NEED MY $450? I TELL THE GUY I'M NOT INTERESTED AND HANG UP.

TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, HE CALLS ME BACK TWO MORE TIMES AND WE HAVE TWO MORE DISCUSSIONS. THE END RESULT IS I DON'T BITE. I DON'T USE TOUTS. I PICK MY OWN GAMES.

I HOPE NO ELSE OUT THERE FELL FOR THIS BS. IF YOU DID I HOPE YOU AT LEAST WON THE GAME. EVEN IF YOU DID ,QUIT WHILE YOU'RE AHEAD. IN TWO WEEKS AFTER YOU LOSE WHATEVER YOU DID MAKE ON THE GAME LAST NIGHT YOU PROBABLY GET ANOTHER CALL TO SIGN UP FOR THE REST OF THE BASEBALL SEASON AT SOME GREAT BARGAIN PRICE.

HAVE TO GO NOW...GOOD LUCK TO ALL WITH THEIR FUTURE WAGERS.

1. NEVER CALL any of their COMP lines...They nab your number from that.

when same guy called me i told him if he called again i would go down to his office and discuss it. he didnt call back and got upset that i called his boss a fraud (anyone who thinks its okay to lay prices in hockey is a schmuck). oh well.

Good story about the call from one of Dave Cokin's reps - sounds just like what I would expect. I once got a call from one of Jim Feist's reps with the same kind of deal claiming that Jim Feist was putting "six figures" on a basketball game. I did not bother with it and found out the "big" pick he was talking about lost anyway.

Around football season, usually we have a lot more posters with some good stories involving touts. Some of winkyduck's posts especially are classic. I think by now we've covered all of Jim Feist's guys like Feist, Cokin, etc. And the stories involving Joe Wiz have been good also.

i have it on good authority (a friend behind the counter in vegas) that a 'big play' for cokin is 3 figures, not 6. my friend says cokin usually plays around $50 per

Dave himself admits he only lends his name and plays to Jim Feist because he can make some extra money. I'll say this bout him, when i was in vegas and he used to do the morning Stardust line, he gave out a local # with all his plays for free, no ads, no hype, just a recording. I've seen his plays, I think its a favorite to say he won't be making a six figure bet anytime soon. Does anybody remeber when he would post on th Rx?
