I am kinda new to sportsgambling. Have read two books: sharp Sports Betting, and this book by derek mcgovern

i was yet not able to select more winners then losers, but to be honest i didnt used to anylize statistics due to lack of time.

my questions are:
- are you guys really making profit with sportsbetting? U use statistics of games?
- what about surebets? seems quiet attractive to me. ould you tell me if you do scalping? And what sport is more likely to bring some surebets?
- what about this paid surebets alert email services?

Thanks in advance, i know you guys are kind and willingly to answer my questions

Scalping makes you dependent.

You must depend on market inefficiencies in order to scalp.

These inefficiencies may/may not continue to exist, many say the oppurtunities are diminishing with DB etc.

One mistake can really hurt you if you risk a high % of BR on a lead.

I would worry about my money at shops where a scalp is available for any length of time.

A successful handicapper makes more.

no real thought went into this.

Yes, scalping is quite boring IMO, the only exciting part would be taking a lead.

I scalp which is noted on this site as well as some others. To be honest it is boring but I do enjoy the free money but as I said in a good thread about this topic in the offshore section not long ago, scalping isn't as easy as it looks.

Some major factors include the fact of taking leads as a scalp isn't always right there for you to get your hands on. You have to take chances with no guarantee of getting your desired result.

You might say the same thing about capping a game but atleast with capping you are betting on something that matched your criteria for making a wager on it which is totally different from taking a lead.

Secondly a very big factor is where you are playing these scalps. Alot of times you are scalping with one solid book you feel comfortable with & one you might not feel as comfortable in, is well advertised, or you even know very much.

It can be stressful on the mind at times. I should know as I was recently doing alot of scalping at a book I didn't hear very good things about but I played with fire & ended up ok but I've put scalping on the backseat for now.

ATX also brought up a great point as alot of us feel the golden days of scalping are gone with DB being what it is. There are simply too many clone books who move lines based on a screen they are watching instead of being a real bookmaker & moving lines based on their own legitimate action. This in turn leads right back to the point above, you sometimes find yourself scalping at lesser known books because of opinionated lines.

One thing I noticed for me personally was the fact that focusing on scalping so much was putting a damper on my capping abilities at times as I spent more time scalping then capping which is why I for now have put that on the backburner to a degree & have focused more on capping straight up. I've even been passing up on decent scalps because I had a strong opinion on the game itself from my capping.

If you want to have some fun, & see how good you can be at making money via gambling then scalping isn't for you as it isn't a challenge mentally. I hope this helps you out somewhat. Oh by the way if you are interested in scalping, maybe you should do a search on some threads on this site & and across the street.

Oh by the way another problem you can occur when scalping is book limits. I didn't have this problem much because with the help of others I got around it but each person is different.

So if you are a good capper, than you can make more profit from scalping, right?

IF I want to be a good capper, do I have enough information from statistics only, or do you guys read every article like crazymen? I like sports, but not that much to do it 8 hours a day. But if it brings me like 500 dollars a day, i am prety sure i will do it.

Next question: you guys keep logs of your bets. Could you please post here if you are in the plus or in the minus?

And what about this zoccer.com tiping service. They claim something of 1600% in a year. Someone tried them out?

I heard that golf and tennis are best sports to cap, but also baseball and basketball. NFL is overanalyzed and therefore profitless. I want to handicap dutch soccer league and maybe german bundesliga.

I just can't see the problem in scalping. So these bookies can change the line everysecond. So before you place a bet there is already big juice, right?

Question to those who scalp: please be honest, how much did/do you make a month with just scalping.

there is a strong feeling in me that like 90 percent of sportbetters here are on the losing side. Is this true, or are you guys all in the plus?

pfffuuuu, ready!

No, if you are a good capper you will make far more capping then scalping. The only difference is capping is considered on paper a risk while scalping is locking in profits but with the state of the offshore world & trust not being at an all time high if it ever was scalping is just as risky as capping.

As far as what it takes to be a good capper, there is only a generic answer & that is to study & learn but how we all go about it is totally different which is why there is no capping manual to follow.

Some of us can just look at a line only & know who to bet while some feel the need to look over stats 8+ hours a day or a combination of these things & others.

Personally I use a combination of alot of things including watching as many games as you can live or on tape, reading articles, watching press conferences, pre/post game shows, stats, opinions of capppers I respect etc.....

Some are of the idea that you should only stick to a select few sports & handicap those exclusively as it isn't possible to win at many sports. I tend to disagree with that personally as I've done so successfully although it was not easy by any stretch & some sports I feel better on then others. I can see why alot feel the way they do as far as that goes though.

I can't speak for others but I do keep a log of all my bets. I feel I must so I can see where I am strong & weak at as far as teams go, types of wagers, etc.....

As far as www.zoccer.com is concerned, I've never heard of the site so I can't offer an opinion on it.

The problems with scalping as mentioned above & echoed by others in the past can add up. We have the issue of clone books which I brought up in the last post which then leads to scalping at books you might have never heard of or are even sure you can trust.

A major problem I worry about as sure as others do is what if a book decides to stiff me or comes up with the bad line excuse. The bad line excuse can sit here & side you like a mother****er & you will be eating some dough anyway you slice it.

I can & have made a few thousand a month scalping but it takes some work especially when having to get around book limits as that is another problem a scalper faces. Some books have such low limits it isn't even worth scalping unless you know you can get it through multiple accounts with friends etc... Some have their limits cut because of winning too much so you have that issue as well & don't get me started on books that deal 2 lines.

Honestly I know I can make more money capping straight up which is why I would never just stop capping for good & only scalp. I will either do both or just capping only.

Most sportsbettors are on the losing side so you have that one pegged pretty well.

I suggest you check out the Rubber Room's "TFZ" thread which is started everyday by Raiders. A # of cappers including myself put plays in there as far as what we like best for the day etc... You can make some good coin with it.

I personally feel non major sports like tennis, soccer, golf, etc are easier to make money on as lines aren't as sharp since realistically most gamblers focus on the big sports.

The RX has some sharp cappers in sports like tennis, golf, soccer etc.. Check out the soccer forum, it is chalk filled with cappers who know what they are doing, we have SeaUrchin doing very well with golf etc.....

Scalping usualy involves playing with weak books.

One stiff book or cancelled bet and there go all your profits.
