I'm creating this thread to post my 12day summaries. I didn't start this year until mid February, due to slow business season, and thus no accounts offshore.

I'm making this Topic primarily as a control on my own investing suggestions. By keeping a public record, it forces me to be much more selective and careful in what I 'tout' as being good choices. And of course, when I'm more careful, I do much better in the event I actually invest.**(see below)

A short background:

I've been following sports investing since my college days in early 80s. I first went online in 1999 and quickly learned how offshores work. Then I plugged in at the VegasInsider forums, where I posted on and off for about 18 months until gravitating over to Ibettor in early 2000, where I took on one of the moderator jobs until the demise of the site late last year. I also plugged into EE in 2001, primarily to use the Hockey forum and still post there today with my one other cyber moniker HOLYCOW.

I love the mental exercise and stimulation of handicapping sports and of course the great feeling that comes from being correct about my own work. But I also have a busy business schedule and therefore I often rely on the information provided by others. Therefore, a Bar n Grill 'pick card' is usually a combination of my own work and the work of others.

** For the purpose of legalese, all information shared is for entertainment purposes only. I'm not admitting that any actual wagers are taking place...BUT IF wagering were fully legal where I live AND I were to be wagering, these are the selections I would use. (Get it?)

Note that I've decided to summarize in 12 day segments, 30 per year. Helps me to keep off of the 'last day of the week' scenarios etc.

The goal of course is to have more winning segments than not, more winning days inside each segment than not.

I have learned that when I really invest the needed time into a sport (usually 2+ hours per day per sport) I do as good as most people I've seen in cyber forums. Here's hoping that this initial boast will inspire me to be even MORE careful about what I post and therefore of more value and enjoyment to all.

Off to pack a bowl...Let's all have a great year.

These first two posts are exact reprints of my first two 12day summaries for 2004. They reflect posted plays only, along with associated values. Now before you go and do a SEARCH of the RX site for my ID, note that every post was made in full at EE under my Holycow moniker. I didn't start cross-posting to the RX until early March, and then some days I didn't get in when the site was having problems. For the most part however, I've been able to cross post for the past couple of weeks and will continue to do so.

Finally, I only post in one Topic to save time, even when I am using multi-sports. This means you will find me in either the Hockey Topic or the MLB Topic.

Unless I'm fussing about politics in the RX forums...heh

CBB

4-5 -0.50

And tailed SGIAN with four losing AFL, which we got excited about and risked two doobies each

0-4 -8.80

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
11 Days 55-36 60.4% +13.90
MAR 1-12
Let's get this mess out of the way first
CBB 2-11 -17.00
Okay.
NHL 1* 8-6 -.40
2* 1-1 -.40
NBA 1* 18-14 +2.60
2* 3-2 +1.60
Winning Days 5 of 12....Woulda had 7 of 12, but CBB kicked my ass. We'll likely be watching the rest of that from cheap seats only.
TWO Segments
Here's the 23 day summary for 2004
CBB 6-16 -17.50
NHL 1* 40-23 +11.90
.........2* 4-1 +5.60
NBA 1* 33-23 +7.70
.........2* 4-3 +1.40
AFL 0-4 in posted tail jobs -8.80
ALL SPORTS 87-74 54.0% +0.30
(Added note on Mar 25) A perfect example of why one must be careful with tailing. Most of the CBB and all four of the AFL choices were tail jobs. Nearly all the NHL and NBA were my own work. Combined, I'm up less than one unit for over 3 weeks.)
Well, we just finished tallying all of the posted plays since last report, which ended Apr 18.
So Apr 19-29 is a short Segment 6, where I only played 5 days.
I then took off from Apr 30 - May 17, so May 18-June 20 will be Segment 7 consisting of 16 days with posted plays.
