Why do we have to feel sorry or sad for Iraq that their country has been put to shreads along with their families?

Can somebody tell me because I have been trying to figure it out why we should and I have no reason to justify it.

Duh?!?!?!

Because we didn't have sufficient justification to go, our problem was supposedly with Saddam (who by the way got away) not the Iraqi people, we destroyed their country and infrastructure, they're being policed by a foreign army, they're being told by that same foreign invader how they must structure their new government, and we won't go away.

done to Iraq. I feel good about the lives America has saved in Iraq.

Only a small amount of the mass graves have been found and it's estimated Saddam executed at least 1 million men, women and children and the number was only going to continue to grow.

The world should thank the US. Who does the world call on to solve all the worlds problems? ie NK & Liberia as of late. When the US tax payers get fed up with the BULLSHIT, they'll realize the good we've done for the others.

AMERICAN PROUD OF IT!!!!!!!!

USA RULES!

But, the time has come to finish up the job and destroy IRAQ!

There is no reason on an average of 2 SOLDIERS are killed a day since the WAR started. It is time for the US to pay back these SMART people. We started the war and we should finish it up so we don't have to hear the name of the country Iraq anymore.

March on!!!

"I feel good about the lives America has saved in Iraq."

But don't feel bad about the ones we've taken, nice.
You feel good that bush2 raised his fist and said "feels good" when the attack began? Hello?, the guy enjoys killing, that in itself is enough to feel sorry about.

"The world should thank the US."
For imposing our will on them?

"When the US tax payers get fed up with the BULLSHIT, they'll realize the good we've done for the others."

You speak as though everyone thought like you, luckily we don't.
As Funk said if tax payers were fed up we'd stop the war on drugs, as well as stop harassing California over the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes, and stop wasting billions of dollars on a no win situation in Iraq.

"There is no reason on an average of 2 SOLDIERS are killed a day since the WAR started."

There wasn't sufficient reason to go in the first place. There's no reason we should still be there.

excellent point about the Drug War.

The sad fact is, most of my fellow Americans are just sheepishly following the actions of thier respective political parties, as opposed to independent thought. It really doesnt matter what is said, but rather who says it.

THe war on Drugs is arguably the biggest waste of money in Government today. Thats not even getting into its errosion of our Cival liberties, mandatory minimuns etc...

Sadly, since we are deadlocked by two parties that refuse to even speak about the facts of the drug war, as to protect the public relations, the fruitless war against drugs wages on.

I hate the drug war.

you do know why 100s of thousands of shiites were slaughtered after the gulf war

bush 1 urged the shiites to overthrow saddam. shiites thought they will be getting US support but instead was left to be slaugtered by the baath party.

the funny thing is US thought the shiites would be welcoming the US with open arms instead of fighting them. i wonder if my father, brother, uncles were killed because of US false promise, that i would be waving the US flag

de niro,
if you remember bush1 only got authorization for gulf 1 by one vote and bush1 had to agree only to push iraq out of kuwait and go no further. that my friend was the problem.
iraq would still be in kuwait if bush 1 insisted on going to baghdad in 1991.

at the time the US must have believed saddam was weakened enough for the people to overthrow him and they were not. we can only blame the liberals and the un for the restrictions placed on the US in gulf1.

THE ONLY REASON THEY LEFT THE SHIITES HANGING WAS THAT THEY WANTED A TEOLOGIAN, RELIGIOUS GOVT LIKE IRAN AND US DIDNT WANT THAT.UNLIKE THIS INVASION, THEY HAD REASONS TO INVADE AND OVERTHROW SADDAM BACK THEN AND DIDNT CARE WHAT UN SAID. YOU THINK THE WORLD WILL BE CRYING OF OVERTHROWING SADDAMS DICTATORSHIP AFTER HE INVADED KUIWAIT.

i know the facts de niro and the facts are bush1 was not authorized to take baghdad in 1991 and that was a restriction that bush1 agreed to when the senate passed the resolution by 1 vote, hence asking for more the resolution would have never been passed. if bush1 would have continued and went into baghdad, for one the funds would not have been approved by the senate and 2 bush1 would ahve been impeached. that's the facts.

"Saddams head will end the attacks."

Yeah make him a martar to the already boiling anti-U.S. Arab community. That'll do a lot of good.

"if you remember bush1 only got authorization for gulf 1 by one vote and bush1 had to agree only to push iraq out of kuwait and go no further."

Why were we concerned with liberating Kuwait which was stolen from Iraq in a similiar fashion to the way Northern Ireland was stolen by England? Should we go strike Ireland to give the north back to England? Of course not. The first gulf war wasn't about liberating anybody either it was also about oil. We barely even got any oil from Kuwait at that time but who did? Japan. They were getting the mayority of theirs there. And since Japan had us by the balls economicaly from the Reagan fiasco, um I mean era, nothing left to do but go fight for Japan's oil interests.

Chonce,
Nancy Reagan's "Just say no" program knocked progressive thought on the war on drugs back years. Such a simplistic approach to such a complicated issue led to the ignorant paranoia that any kid that took a hit off a joint would turn into a lost cause. At this point tax dollars support pot heads in prison for the crime of possession, yeah that's a smart use of funds.

Come on give your head a shake these guys are the dreggs of America. (stupid, uneducated, non contributing members of society)

Grantt,

I'm American however you and I are often of the same opion, I would appreciate it if your references were towards, the Americans that are uneducated, bone heads, rather than, uneducated American bone heads.
Generalizing is not nice, do ALL Canadians say "A" and "hoser" after every 4 words and mispronounce out and about?

I agree with the above post. I like Kaya, am usually in agreement with you Grant, and am also American.

I understand your frustration, as there seems to be a enoumous amount of americans who are pro-death,pro war and blindly follow thier governemnt at all costs, even if means sacrificing truth and freedom.

Still, there are a few Americans such as myself who agree that the current ways of America are nothing to be proud of.

Sorry guys I love all nationalities equally. I was strictly referring to the pro war guys like outandup etc. The type of guys that are incapable of a educated discussion because they don't read. I refuse to engage in conversation with these type of people. They can’t see the forest through the trees. He claims to be full of facts but he never posts anything relevant to prove anything. He’s proven he’s a great blind follower and he doesn’t read but that’s it I’m afraid.
