Decided to do a little research this morning since I was bored.

This is a comparison between of stats up to when BARRY was the same age as MANNY is currently.

Please understand that in NO WAY am I taking anything away from Barry because he has UNBELIEVABLE stats from this point on and undoubtedly Manny will NEVER reach some of his milestones.

Having said that, think you will still find this interesting.

BARRY vs. MANNY at the same age of 32....which is Mannys current age.

HOME RUNS:

Manny- 364
Barry- 334

RBI's:

Manny- 1186 (very impressive!)
Barry- 993

AVG:

Manny- .318
Barry- .294

Now that is interesting...Manny re emerging this year...its hard to imagine why Boston would have dealt him for ARod...it was as if Manny was 2nd rate.

If he stays focused (big if) he will destroy the alltime RBI record.

He is on a good pace for alltime Slams too.

Has anyone had more RBI'S at his age?

plus manny is just cool. i mean really, i was in the section where he plays outfield and he made a nice grab and i stood up and clapped and yelled "nice catch manny! youre the man!" and he looked over in my direction and just kind of nodded his head up at me. . .even when they put him on irrevocable waivers he never bitched at all, he was just getting ready for the season and said he will do his best no matter who he plays for.

his homepage is really cool also, and shows what he does for a daily workout routine and what charitys he likes to give to and he even gives batting advice to young hitters.

I have nothing but good things to say about manny, he is A+ all the way around.

Ramirez took it bad in the press after that meltdon he had last year when he didn't want to play...I hope he stays around , when he is done we're talking about atleast 600 HR'S and 2300 RBI'S, and he does hit for a high average which seems to go unnoticed...he is WELL over .300

last night was probably the best game in the red sox season.

it was so great to see bonds go 0-3 and get k'd by kieth foulke and see so many red sox hitters belt it out of barry's back yard. he looked humiliated much of the game.

san fran played their usual gay brand of NL small ball which worked well for 3 innings before the sox just started sending everything into the cove and the stands. nixon gives that offense a completely different look. wait until they get bill muellar back. what a display that was.

big come from behind win for boston and then even managed to pull away winning comfortably

i was concerned about that also fish, the other day he was kind of hobbling on a double but last night rounding the bases on a HR he appeared to be fine.

garciaparra on the other hand hit a triple and flat out motored to 3rd, i mean he really booked it over there. i am so glad he took his time coming back, it reminded me of vick when he took forever to come back but had more than 100% speed on his legs.

every athlete should always take their time coming back if it is early enough in the season.

it doesnt mean a damn if boston is 15 games behind ny yanks. they just have to make it to the playoffs

in a 7 game series w/pedro and schilling pitching 5 games

boston will win

I agree they are built for a short series, but the division is not out of reach. MFY pitching is starting to show it's age may'n!

YES MANNY IS THE COOLEST DUDE IN SPORTS!
