He said stop gambling!! Just kidding!

He said that a half of a teaspoon of cinnamon daily lowers blood sugar and may prevent adult onset diabetes! Now I know that a lot of you here claim to exercise (which is also huge towards preventing diabetes)But for those of you who don't exercise enough, this may be a huge step towards prevention. I hope this helps!

Will a big brimming bowl of cinnamon toast crunch substitute? Are you supposed to gag it down dry?

Last year, the researchers reported that less than a half-teaspoon of cinnamon daily for 40 days reduced by about 20 percent the blood sugar, cholesterol and triglyceride levels of 60 volunteers in Pakistan with Type 2 diabetes. But table cinnamon made from cinnamon bark contains fat-soluble compounds. Those compounds may accumulate in the body if ingested consistently as more than a spice over long periods of time.

what does that mean table cin. is no good...so what do you get?

That's a good question. I talked to him, and he said pure unrefined cinnamon from like a Whole Foods health store.

whatever you can do to avoid diabetes - DO IT!

i have a nephew who will turn 6.5-years-old sunday. at age 18 months he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes - something he was born with.

unless they find a cure for this - for the RET OF HIS LIFE he will have diabetes. EVERY SINGLE THING that goes into his mouth has to be accounted for (if he was a female there might be a line here for when he gets a tad older). he wears a pump (sorta looks like a beeper) on the waist of his pants that feeds insulin into his butt.

seeing what he goes thru on an everyday basis is something i wouldn't wish for (too many of) my enemies. when he goes to B-day parties he can't just pile down food like other kids. he either has to watch what he eats of bring his own food. that sucks.

whatever you can do to prevent diabetes - DO IT!

The South Beach Diet was designed specifically to prevent diabetes among other things. It works wonderfully (lost 25 lbs in 2 months), and is also great for your heart.
