Which Champ from the 4 major Team Sports was the Biggest Upset this last year? Looking at each league on day one of each season, I have to go with The Marlins.

New England was not an upset. They were favored over Carolina by 7. I agree with you on the Marlins.

Wil:

Been back for a few days posting mostly in the NBA Forum. Like you, posted the Pistons. Seems like the Offshore Forum is becoming a place where posters seem to have a desire to state their opinion on games not just the Sports Forums. Guess I might have to start spending a bit more time here then previously, particularly now that hoops is complete.

Ted - Yeah the Pistons were easy pickens against a washed up Laker squad. Feel free to post here in Offshore any opinion you like, I know many here respect your ideas.

I thought you meant New England when they were dogs against the Rams.

I expect the potential dynasty Lightning to garnish NO votes here.

The Marlins were only slightly higher than the Pistons to win the series before the playoffs started! I think they were between 8-1 and 11-1 to win it all when the playoffs got under way. So the Marlins were almost the same price the Pistons were to just win this one series. For that reason I will call the Pistons the biggest upset.

Sorry Fish, but dynasties are for other sports. In hockey you have to seize your chance because it may not come to you again even if you on paper have the best talent.

The Pistons get my vote. Especially with how they dominated the Lakers so much.
