Ben Sheets struck out the side on 9 pitches yesterday.......Its only the 32nd time that has happened....

B. Lidge struck out 4 Brewers in ONE inning yesterday....Its only the 47th time thats happened...

So....How many times have both those things happened in the SAME game?

Interesting, huh?

No, you only need 9 pitches to strikeout the side.

Nanners, I think he is referring to Sheets striking out 3 on 9 pitches...

Lidge struck out 4 batters but was in a world of trouble in that inning...The first guy he struck out in the inning reached base on a passed ball. The bases were loaded with nobody out when Lidge then struck out the next 3 Brewers to kill my Milwaukee bet.

agreed.....but you would need more than 9 pitches to strike out 4 batters in one inning since one hitter would reach on a drop third strike

NANNERS===They are two DIFFERENT instances in the same game.

One guy struck out the side on 9 pitches........the other pitcher stuck out 4 in one inning.
