Mike Mussina left his start against the San Diego Padres on tonight after just three innings because of tightness in his right groin. Kevin Brown is day to day, and his status for his next scheduled start Tuesday in Arizona is uncertain.

Yankee faithful are hoping to hang on for a .500+ season.

I think they dig down deep and accomplish this feat.

Fish-

I was at game 7 vs sox last year. How many months did it take you to get over those lucky Yanks

The Yankees could have beat the Marlins and so might have the Red Sox. Not to take away anything from the Marlins because I could see either of those 3 teams winning it last season. Cubs also.

Gee two old geezers, one who hasn't had a full healthy season since the 90s, and could anyone call this a surprise? I am certain Cashman had this all figured out and already has a hotlist of names to trade for if the trainers think it comes to that. Victor Zambrano...are your bags packed???

if the yanks really do stumble this year, that will be four straight years without a title. . .if the sox land beltran this will bust their backs, considering all the yanks have been doing is signing free agents. . considering most of theirs are old, it will go to show they are asleep at the wheel. . especially given they could have signed both manny and ortiz no problem. . .i really have to wonder about the yankees when they get sheffield, and think it is something
