What the hell is going on?

Pistons 63, Lakers 49. I knew the Lakers were over-rated, but this is amazing.

Lakers were lazy all year long, but I figured they'd turn it up in the Finals.

Reminds me of the Dodgers/Athletics World Series. Oakland was a dominating team. Jose Canseco, Mark McGwire, Dennis Eckersley, Dave Stewart. Oakland would play in 3 consecutive World Series.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers had a ho-hum offense. Didn't hit for average, didn't hit for power. Orel Hershisher carried them to the World Series.

But the Dodgers beat them 4-1. Oakland only hit .177 in the series. Just like the Lakers (so far), they barely showed up to play.

While this game is far from over, this series should forever go down as the reference for anyone who asks "Why even bother to play the games".

I'd compare a Detroit Victory to the Superbowl Victory by Namath's Jets over the Colts (17 point Dogs)

Funny how everybody thought the NBA was in shambles when Detroit made the Finals. They can't score enough points, they can't stop Shaq, they're a boring team, etc.

Instead, they've become the PERFECT opponent for the Lakers. You've got the hustling blue-collar Pistons against the snobby glitz & glamour Lakers. It is a great story-line.

As I speak, another offensive rebound for the Pistons.

Looks like the East was better than anyone thought...all those low scores, it turns out it wasn`t for lack of skill, just alot of heart.

Somewhere David Stern is smiling.

David Stern will not be smiling unless the NBA finals goes at least 6 games. The NBA needs long series.

Reminds me more of the 1990 series when the Reds swept the A's. The Reds were huge underdogs in the series.
