The handicapping service business has always been a seedy one. The ‘scamdicappers’ out there have always made outrageous, unsubstantiated claims.

However, even some of the more reputable services are using less honest documentation with more hype and exaggeration.

I hate to put it this way, but this article is old news. If you included examples of specific handicappers by name and some of the scams they've done, etc. then maybe it would be a more interesting read.

I don't know if you would call it a scam but Marc Lawrence is always talking about these great system games that hit 90-100% of the time in the past. What he fails to tell you is he is a career 40-45% handicapper and these big games he sells on the internet miss at least 60% of the time. His son goes by the name Cincinnati Kid and isn't any better.

Please remember, there are always new bettors coming into the market. We were there once. We can't stop teaching.

It's almost impossible for a legitimate service to stay in business. The general public has been conned into believing that 70% ATS is possible and common so when they see some guy claiming and documented to go 54-55% ATS long-term, they laugh and think that's a pathetic record.

The bigger problem is the general ignorance of gamblers IMHO. There's some guy down in the site promo sections who claims to have not one, but many systems that go 99% ATS in the NFL!!

Maybe I need to buy this guy's picks? I sure could use lifetime 60% winners fading him!
