Did anyone else have a problem placing a wager with Youbet on the Belmont Stakes? I tried to place 1 wager(4 horse exacta box, $12 total)and never got the bet confirmation. I tried again, still no confirmation, logged out, then in, tried again, still no confirmation of a bet being received. I then went to Pinnacle and placed my bet, thought nothing more of it, thinking no wager was accepted at Youbet. When I log in again on Monday my account is $36 light. I email Youbet, they investigate the claim, then credit me with $24 saying my intent was to bet the $12 exacta.

I have responded 3 times via email now, that intent isn't what matters, it's the confirmation of the bet that does.

Has anyone else had this happen with Youbet? Am I right in thinking for a bet to be a valid wager that you must have confirmation? Just wanted to hear some other opinions/experiences. The $ figure is very small, but this practice multiplied by the # of users they have can amount to a lot of money.

IMO - When a bet is entered the player should have some sort of confirmation even if it is only a reduction in available funds. To log-in the 2 days later and find out a previously un-confirmed bet was actually confirmed can cause exactly what happened to Leykis101 - he made an duplicate bet elsewhere, ending up with a loss double the amount he had intended to risk. I am not saying Youbet would not have paid had he won, but by not confirming they caused a player to risk more than he wanted to.

Thanks MVBSKI. I just would like Youbet to admit they're wrong and refund me the remaining $12, its not the money its the principle behind it. I asked them what would happen if I had a winning ticket with no confirmation, no response back. Here is their response:

Dear Member,

Thank you for contacting Youbet.com.

The event that occurred on Saturday inconvenienced a number of our members during the Belmont Stakes. We realize the impact of this situation on our customers and have worked diligently to refund all duplicate wagers.

We’d like to clarify how we arrived at the amount deposited into your wagering account, as outlined in our email communication to you. The initial amount of the wager(s) placed was not included as part of the refund. The intent was to refund only duplicated wagers. We believe this was the most equitable solution since it resulted in your account being debited only for your original wager(s), which you intended to make once but not repeatedly.

We hope this clarifies any confusion regarding how we arrived at your deposit amount.

Please let us know if we may assist you further or answer any additional questions.

Sincerely,

Sharon

MVBSKI, Any idea where this non-confirmed bet money would've went? I mean, either a whole bunch of Youbet member's wagers got in the Belmont pools or they didn't. I just wonder if Youbet is eating this or are making money on the non-confirmed bets.

I will ask around if they had any issues on saturday.hard to say what happened if the bet did not make it to the track that would explain why it doesnt show up in your history I really doubt they would go into your account and remove the 36.00 manually but you have a leginamite gripe here say you played the super and hit it and didnt get credit for it then what I would keep the heat on them for a explanation and if that doesnt work I can put you in touch with just the right guy to

MV,
I love that logo even though Oregon is nothing but a breeding pool for freakshows like Ridnour and Jackson

I had all kinds of tech issues with youbet, mostly logging in. Still love the service, but got out a few months ago.
