Hey fellas,

Made the semi annual trip out to vegas and this one was a little bit of a downer. Started strong with the Cards beating the Cubs Friday afternoon, but fell flat with the Cincy uprising vs Houston and Sheets losing on Saturday..Two big losses for me.

Happy to report some good winnings at BJ and craps at the Bellagio, Is there a more enjoyable place, at least music-wise to play at than the hard rock?

Fashion Show mall has really been upgraded since i was last in town in 2002, a real treat to get out of the heat and away from the tables/games for a while.

Have to say all my meals were excellent..

Lawry's
California Pizza Kitchen (Mirage's sportsbook well placed)
Hard Rock Cafe

We did a drive out to California on Saturday, visited a buddy who just moved to a new apartment on the corner of Laurel and Hollywood, AMAZING location if you ask me, 2 blocks north of the Sunset Strip and right below some incredible views of houses hanging from the hills above.

Driving through the hollywood hills gives me a thrill, anyone ever been up to the top of Oriole Way?? Madonna and Leonardo Dicaprio both have lived in the house on the end, which is being rebuilt right now, the views are breath taking..

Always been interested in the Manson murders and have visted 10050 Cielo drive before, boy have they changed that place around, wonderful looking new exterior to the drive, and a totally new house up top. Driving all the way up Cielo and to the top of Angelo though was a treat, apparently Rupert Murdoch owns one of the houses there, talk about goat trials...getting up there with a full sized car wasn;t too easy, can;t imagine what it must be like to live up there, anyone else ever driven up in or live in those Hollywood Hills?? Would love to hear some stories!!

Anwyay, this wasn't the best trip i have had gambling wise, but it leant a good oportunity to explore some fun stuff. Weather was very agreeable too, mid 80's.

Oh, the trip started in Chicago Wednesday night with an awesome show by Velvet Revolver...check em out when you get a chance!

I watched and won on the Lakers Friday night at the MGM Grand sportsbook. Man was that place hopping, more lakers fans than i could imagine, no idea how that line stayed where it was all day, money had to have poured in on the Lakers..

Forgot to metion El Pollo Loco on Sunset in West Hollywood, FABULOUS mexican fare for a fast food place. The Pollo bowl is outstanding. The wife and step daughter loved In n Out Burger..place was busy as hell too.

Have to say the Olympic Gardens is a FABULOUS place to spend a few hours late on a Thursday night...Beautiful women in every direction. Helped that the Stratosphere was right up the block, stayed there for a pretty cheap price.

Does anyone besides me think, at least after this last trip, that being in Las Vegas almost defeats the purpose of sports betting. i mean its MUCH easier and convinient to do it online or with a phone call. Seems like the advantages now greatly outweigh the one obvious advantage of betting in Vegas, being paid cash on the spot.

What are your opinions on the topic? Personally i am thinking its basically a waste of time to go there to be on sports, when i have that right here on the PC and phone and can go to a riverboat within an hour any day of the week..

I still sit in my home office with my feet propped up on my desk and play on line. Once a week or so I'll venture out and play cards and make a bet at a Casino.

For the most part I can do without the smoke and hassle of a Casino but it is nice to know you can cash out without any hassle whatsover and these joints won't go out of business anytime soon.
