$200,000.00 usd = ¢86,400,000 CR colones. You could do a WHOLE LOT with that here in Costa Rica and in other countries....

Jman, it seems that our lives are alot alike... i have about that much ready cash and own my own convenience store as well.. im always trying to find a way to liquidate all my assets and make a living (without a job)..

I own a commercial lot and am going to build 2 duplexes on it, starting the first one in a few weeks.. Im debating of whether to pay for it completely or finace a part or all of it.. The duplex will be brick and about 1040 sq ft per unit, 2 bedroom and 1 bath.. My twist to it -- is to build 4 small storage units on the property as well and throw them in, with the duplex.. jacking up the rent of course.....

I hope you get some good responses in this thread, as it is of interest to me..

I agree with real estate. I say you should diversify yourself into a few businesses so you can cover your ass if one isn't so hot for a period of time.

I didn`t say who it was (wink)

Its actually a realistic scenario, I 'know a guy' (wink) he has a nice business, he makes really good money with BUT, (and here is where the problem lies) it may have an end to it in about 2-3 years....I am not sure what kind of future, I , I mean 'he' knows it will go strong for the next 3 years, after that though 'he' isn`t sure...Its really strong for the time being...Its somewhat of a novelty, you may say, and that is the only problem lol..Hell it may last 10 years but 'he' can`t be sure, 'he' does know he will have a nice nestegg though..'He' is a gambler too, 'He`s' a good guy BTW!

how about putting aside 30k of those 200k, put the rest in the bank or a CD or something and travel all over the USA or Canada or Europe, something like that

After five years in the same job I surely do need a break badddddddddddddddd

If he can he should take the opportunity to enjoy some of that $

Just kidding. Bet professionally, pick your spots, and get good deals such as free half points and 105 juice to 107 juice. JMHO.
