I will do my best to make this brief. After reading the post started by the Shrink, I thought to myself, "Now here is a topic that merits more discussion." I know that there are many theories on the subject. And the comments made by Rob Funk were more than valid. His opinion is that following a good, hot handicapper is much better than fading a "mush". His statement that you never know when the "mush" will either get better, or start talking to a winner is also a very intelligent point. With this in mind, I still believe that there is HUGE money to be made by fading a square with a HORRIBLE opinion. I can't begin to tell you how much money I made by fading guys who would go out partying all night until the wee hours who would make their picks after looking at the paper for like 10 minutes. These degenerates would come up with their picks, and then go to bed and invariably would wake up oweing their bookies big $$.
The key here is to be close to the person you are fading. In other words, if you blindly fade a poster here, you really have no chance because you have no real inside feel for what they are doing.
If you have someone you are close to, the key is to get their picks, never tell them you are fading them, and always stay abreast of how they are capping. If they find a new source, change their methods, then possibly back off. However, if you are lucky enough to be close to a guy who keeps banging his head against the wall with losing methods, there is real money to be made. My advice, stay close to them, make sure they aren't changing anything, and incorporate the info with what you are doing. In other words, if you like a side a lot, and you find the fader big on the other side, you may want to increase.
Just my two cents. I hope this may be of some help to you guys.

Cap cappers. It is not that hard to find good fade(s), including me. Timing is everything. You got to work a little.

getthemoney is a solid fade candidate. He makes these bold claims in the OFFSHORE forum and they never win.

I never give grief to people posting their picks except when they use the LOCK and GUARNTEE words.

Good Post Rio Shill...

Now why not share with us some picks that come from this degenerate?

Or maybe, some of us might want to know who RIO has to beat, especially when the ratio and size difference is big...

Thanks,

THE SHRINK

The worst bettors still hit 47% ATS vs. market numbers.

The reason they lose so much is that they play into bad numbers, they parlay stuff (often in muliple game parlays), they tease, they just do everything humanly possible to give away their money.

What I have found is the lack of money management is what beats most the losers I know.

Sunday morning the phone rings and I hear "I like Balt for 500, St Louis for 200, Indy for 400", etc... Yep, Rams win, Rams win, player loses

Exactly. That's why simple fading won't really work all that well....because you really can't do precisely the opposite of what the "loser" is doing. On the other hand, if you can just become that loser's bookie then you will have been granted the Midas Touch.

exactly mr.shill. .if you know the guy you are fading well, then by all means go for it.. just seeing a user name with a tough win % won't cut the mustard. i have often faded people becuase their reasoning sucks. . and i also agree that everyone should shill out
