What to do with Rio contest winnings........

First, thanks to Rio, Mike seems like a great guy. Ive taken the $100 they awarded me to $400. Ok guys, One of two choices here, help me out by voting on option 1 or 2, cause since this was basically free money, the whole amount is going one of the following.......
1. Detroit Pistons to win series +240
2. Calgary +130
(kind of gives you guys a part in this also

Hache - take the easy money with the Flames. Think about it - you have a pair major league Jonahs riding on Tampa tonight, namely Fishhead and Sick Gambler. Thats right they are both on the same side, together they are like the Titantic. If ever there was a fade me special this is it. Flames plus the money gets my vote.

two team parlay.....st louis cardinals vs cubbies, and houston astros vs seattle....i know this wasn't one of the options, but you'll thank me later, and you'll have more to wager on the pistons (though i'm still not sold on them just yet)

I need Det, but the past 5 years the LAL are the toughest pro team to eliminate. I think it will make it back to LA and winng one of the last 2 games, with LAL's backs to the wall will prove very tough.

2 things that keep running through my head though guys with this "free" $400 bet. First is Wil, even though I think you may be right about Calgary, I just keep thinking that Tampa is due for a big home game. Second, I am just looking at already having a one game jump on the second bet/selection.....

Ok let me give you a piece of advice. Whether you won a contest or deposited money, you always play in the ways that you feel are smart & have worked for you in the past. I'm doubting that you are the type that would let everything go on one bet so why become that way now? Wager responsible & turn that $100 into even more then $400.

If you put a gun to my head, I'd say play Calgary. First off lets get real, Detroit most likely won't win this series & secondly why play them now. Like I advised to posters a few days ago who liked the Lakers to win the series which was hope Det stole a game in LA & then play LA at a much better price. Now I'm saying the opposite, assume LA wins Game 2 & if you really believe in Detroit then play it as you will get better then what is available now.

I haven't followed hockey during the entire playoffs so my opinion on that game is not worth very much, but I would find it hard to believe that Calgary has nearly twice as good of a chance to win as the Pistons (+130 vs +240). I've had my money on the Pistons (at +1050) to win it all since the middle of the NJ series. Not since the Pats took on the Rams in the SuperBowl a couple years back has a team been as under-rated as these guys. They got a 1-0 lead, home court advantage and the best defense in NBA history (remember - offense wins praise, defense wins championships). Take the Pistons.

Your right EG, I don't wager to those extremes....This is just different in my opinion. When something like this happens I am just good about acting as if the money was never there to begin with. I know this may sound silly, just the way I think. Sounds ridiculous I know, but if it was my money that was originally deposited I wouldn't go this route. Also...............How do you know Im not a Nickel~Bettor per game to begin with? This could just be like any other wager to me.........

I know EG, Im just messing with ya buddy. The whole reason for this whole thread anyhow is that Rio told me if I came up with this idea and posted it to give them even more exposure, they would throw in another $200..................
