June 1st 2004 was a night nobody will ever forget. Indiana went into Detroit trying to take the series back home for a Game 7. At least they were up at Halftime, 33-27
To be honest after that, even the gambler who had thousands riding on the game, probably had to turn away for most of the second half until it finally came to an end.
"I don't know if it was a classic in a lot of people's eyes," Pistons coach Larry Brown said. "But I guess if the series was going to end, this is the kind of game it should have ended with." In a symbolic way, that might have been the game that somehow ended the NBA as a whole across America.

The scoreboard is all that needs to be examined to conclude that the level of play in the NBA is down. Scoring is down along with shooting percentages and the only reason turnovers are down is because coaches don't trust their players to play up-tempo anymore. Joe Dumars has even said that Kobe, KG and McGrady shouldn't have been and weren't ready for the NBA. There success early might be achieved because the NBA as a whole just sucks.? And the Michael Jordan era, even though might not seem like it, has been long gone.

Even with these sentiments, the recent influx of high school players into the NBA has changed the draft process of we know it. Superstars like Garnett, Bryant and Jermaine O'Neal have made the jump from prep to pro, but other phenoms like Korleone Young and Lenny Cooke have disappeared after being disappointed on draft night.

18 year olds will continue to enter the draft early because of the money that can be made and they have every right to do so. My point is, the young players are hurting the quality of the NBA. Sure LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and other rookies are making an impact on the NBA season, but as players enter the league with less experience, teams are forced to play more of an individual game.

More game experience might not prevent teams from making some of the same fundamental mistakes, but if players are more fundamentally sound, coaches might be willing to give them more freedom on the floor.

But again, high school graduate 6 foot 11 Kevin Garnett would try to bring the ball up everytime down the court, the demise will be sooner than later.
