There is no chance the olympics are cancelled!

They didn't cancel them in 1972 after a terrorist group infiltrated the olympic housing compound and murdered several Israeli athletes.

and

They didnt cancel them after a bomb went off in downtown Atlanta in 1996

Security will be at its extreme highest level making it unbearable for the spectators but as humanly safe as possible!!!

That being said, even if there is some sort o incident (god forbid) "The Games will go on"!!

But both of your examples happened DURING the Olympics. With the 2004 Olympics, there is legitimate concern that something might happen before the games start.

With the way this world is today, the feds are TAKING NO CHANCES with any threats or shady tactics! Anyone who wants to bet on the OLYMPICS to be cancelled is a moron and a red flag should pop up?? Maybe your shop is dumb enough to post a line on this if posters here agree! But me losing family on 9/11 don't find it comforting you asking for posters opinions on whether posting a line or not!

3 FACTORS COME TO MIND:

1- TICKET SALES HAVE BEEN ABOMINABLE...

2- MANY STRUCTURES HAVE NOT BEEN COMPLETED...

3- TERRORIST ATTACKS POSSIBLE...

WOULD I BOOK THIS?

HECK NO!

I'm fairly certain this prop must be up in the UK somewhere.
Perhaps someone from across the pond check check.

I wouldn't book it at 10-1. People care about there lives more than the olympics. Its a new day

Rio,

Most companies that have a big investment in the Games are insured with Lloyds of London or somebody to protect themselves in the event the Games don't occur.

You can do the same thing easily if you can get enough action on the prop to warrant it.

Then, have your marketing department contact every sports writer in the States by email, informing them of the prop. Eventually it will get major media attention and Rio gets a ton of free advertising.

I expect my $1000 free account ready for Game 6 for running your business for you.

Per Chach,

An alternate idea is to check with the Re-Insureres like General RE etc. Lloyds and anyone else writing the main policy will go to them to re-insure and limit risk. Since games arein Athens, I would look to the German reinsures for the most appropriate quotes

Rio has never been in the business of booking exotic wagers such as the one mentioned above. Rio/Skybook has thrived on "quintessential" wagers such as football, basketball, and baseball. Rio has thrived on the free half point and a nice relationship with Don Best. The question was more of the rhetorical nature. If you look at our site, you will not see presidential wagering or any exotic stuff that you find at many other sites. The question was like earlier stated more for the sake of discussion. We at Rio/Skybook would like nothing more than a wonderful, smooth Summer Olympics in Athens. Good luck to all, and best wishes from the Rio/Skybook family.

How is it "taking bets on peoples lives"?

The prop would be on whether or not the Games would be played. Athens has a lot more than just security issues to deal with. It's been a fiasco since the start. Toronto should have been awarded the Games.

I doubt al Qaeda will do anything in Athens because it would increase international support for the American's fight on terror.
