I find this thread interesting:

Why would the MODS give info about the competition?

Would you guys go to a VOLVO dealer and ask them whats their favorite FORD?

...probably not.

If I was SHRINK I would be pissed at this thread and a certain MOD...just my opinion.

I am sure when shrink started this site he intended it to be a forum where people cld share ideas & share gambling info...the fact that it turned into a business shows how the concept was a phenomenal sucess...

The internet is far different than a volvo dealership...Volvo may indeed direct buyers of their car's towards certain tire company's just like the rx threads may direct others towards other sites that offer different information...with tools like google etc, as if internet surfers are not gonna find em anyway!

I agree about sharing info. and trying to help each other. No doubt that is the reason we come on this site, but from a businesss standpoint, it doesnt make much sense to me.Just my opinion.

The Rx has nothing to worry about, and they are confident of this fact. This is by far the best site out there. Posters are always going to come back.

Honestly - information about handicapping sites has never been a problem. We don't let links stay but when someone mentions a good stat site there is not a problem with it staying offshore. I am talking about sites like Statfox, Covers, Let it Ride, even Fiests stat site. These are all excellent sources for handicappers. Picks are another story, as mods we have to be sure touts do not use this forum to promote themselves.

Sorry my mistake...I thought some of these places were chatrooms too. For stats nss.net and Johnny Detroit are my choices.Sorry Wil.

Pete, nothing to be sorry for. The thread title "Gambling sites" really can mean almost anything to do with betting, from boards like this one, to stat sites like you mention, or pick/stat sites like covers, (not to mention books and casinos). I favor Johhny Detroit myself and believe it or not use USA Today quite a bit.

mlb.com is pretty good.

drf.com is #1 for horseplayers,followed by equibase.com

espn.com is pretty handy for some stats as well.

Actually, I imagine that the response would be polite and helpful, given that Volvo is a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company and has been for years.

I understand where you're going with the comment; just an FYI on the details. Say, for example, a Chevy dealer being asked about Ford -- that analogy holds up better.
