Pistons said they didn't take Carmelo because they already had Tayshuan Prince. While I think that was a silly reason NOT to pick Carmelo, nobody can argue (especially after the last 2-3 weeks) that Tayshaun is a much better defensive player than Carmelo.
Carmelo got lots of PT in Denver, and he basically had a green-light to shoot. In Detroit, he wouldn't get as much PT. Just because he scored 20 ppg in Denver doesn't mean he would've scored 20 ppg in Detroit.

Bottom Line FUNKY...Who gives a Sh#T about 2 or 3 years from now ?...Dumars would Swap picks Like THAT given the current Circumstances...When given the chance to Win it all...I think Detroit Would DIE to have Anthony RIGHT NOW over a an Investment on the Bench...Even if CA would only contribute 13 pts. for this squad .
