"What these frivolous lawsuits are claiming is that slot-makers are creating a false sense of the player almost being a winner, which is completely false. Machines don't decide a result and then figure out how to display it. That would be illegal because all gaming commissions forbid this practice. "

Many online slots machines do exactly this. EZECASH(who owns partypoker, partybingo, starluck casino, etc) does exactly that.
I have concrete proof.

Might be true, but I was certainly not talking about online machines. The lawsuits that have been taken up recently all are aimed at land-based casinos and machines. Besides we all know there is nothing even close to a gaming regulator looking at these online machines.

Either way your article was hardly credible. Land based slot machines do tease the player by showing 2/3 of a winning combo on the line. Giving near hits where the line shows 77- and the third seven is just below the line. It happens all the time. Many players after seeing the "near miss" will continue to play thinking their machine is due.

Whether the teasing by the machine is intentional or not makes no difference, negligence still exists.

Your article is filled with flaws and exaggeration

Wild Bill: I've hit 5-6 Royals in my life. I don't play that anymore. It sure seems I've received thousands of 4-card royals, no wild cards, the original game.

I play the game like this now (when in Vegas ). Bartender a roll of quarters, and a ***** please. Throw the guy a $1 tip, play a few quarters, leave when he ain't looking, cash in , repeat.

Doug- Rest assurred, VP in Vegas is on the up and up or many pros would not have made it their business, including myself.

They would have been OUT OF BUSINESS!

Not trying to sound boostful here, just trying to let you know the facts about VP, which in this forum is constantly misrepresented.

In my lifetime, I have hit easily OVER 250 Royals, in all sorts of denomination.

Have played a TON of hours at VP in my lifetime.

Fishhead: That's great. Video poker is your niche ! I'm not saying it can't be beat. The variance is high. I'm sure fewer suceed at it , than with sports.

I'm not going to try, I'm sure you play it better than , I.

I may be somewhat omnivorous, but VP isn't likely to float in my pond ,soon ! Apoligies to OF, for stealing his material.

I've seen video poker ruin many people. I've seen women become prostitutes ,to get that next roll of quarters. It's the crack cocaine of gambling. Very Dangerous game !

I used to tend bar graveyard on lower Fremont st. No sooner did these desperate broads suck a c*ck, then right back in my bar at 3 am, to put that $20 in the machine.

The problem is the infrequency of hitting Royal. That alone will kill almost anyone, but you. The game is wicked.

Playing the game properly will leave you little chance of risk of ruin.

One can figure out the PRECISE risk of ruin levels of EVERY VP game and denomination.

Just as ONE example, if your playing quarter dueces and have a bankroll of $5,732, your risk or RUIN is only 5%.........meaning that one would only have a 5% chance of going completely broke if they started out with $5,732 and played only full pay dueces wild.

That gives one a 19 out of 20 chance of making what ever they want to make lifetime if they can start out with a $5,732 bankroll and stick strickly with quarter dueces wild.

Adding a slot card that adds say 0.20% lowers the above figure to $4,414.

Like I mentioned, one can figure this out with any type game and denomination.
