Should this be done?

Have you done this?

Your thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated.

"Yea, gimme a dime on the Lakers, a nickle on the Yankees, and deduct $10 from my account for yourself"

This has been discussed here before, but tipping is a nice way of showing a worker your appreciation for their efforts.

Simply ask the sportsbook rep who you would have to speak with in order to tip them. Usually it's just a matter of speaking to their supervisor. Some places disallow this, but in general it is available.

I've heard of cases where the sportsboook MATCHES the tip in appreciation for the reps dedication.

I never have tipped at an offshore book ! I'm sure it would be appreciated ! I don't require much customer service, unless website is down, in which case I usually bet elsewhere.

Some jobs aren't big tip jobs, I think this is one of them. We never see these people, afterall. A waitor, bartender, etc. ,is different.

TOTAL waste of money tipping an offshore clerk!

I am not sure hwy you should tip a VEGAS clerk for that matter. I mean think about it, no one tips you when you lose? Well OK I guess that you get compe3d from time to time, but usually you get comped when you are winning

Fish, I do this every year at Christmas time, always thru an agent though, I have never tiped at a post up shop, just my main credit shops that have clerks that actually deserve it, not like those jackasses at some places.

I would advise NO TIPPING to the sportsbooks. It probably won't get to the person(s) you intended it to. I know of a well known book whose boss (not the owner)accepted tips around Christmas time from agents, and simply kept them. I'm talking about over 50 dimes, too.

The reason he gave for stealing this money was that he didn't want the clerks to get too chummy with the customers. This would cause problems eventually, he felt.

I guess the reason he accepted the money as tips (and then kept it) was that he didn't want to deprive the "tippers" of the joy of giving.

Maybe he wasn't doing such a bad thing after all.
