Do you guys think they still have a chance to make it to the finals? They have been playing real poorly and my futures are looking horrible!

I hope they turn it around like the Lakers did in the San Antonio series.

I just hope they start playing like they did in the regular season.

Go #1 SEED PACERS. Show them Detroit ghetto hoodrats how to play ball.

Not sure if the Pacers can pull if off, but I do think Detroit can defeat the Lakers if they both get through, but do not think Indiana can.Detroit matches up well with Ben and Rasheed, Richard Hamilton, Chauncey Billips, Prince, a deep bench, and a very strong defense.....

To state the very obvious they have to win game 4 and retrieve home court. Can they make it to the finals Yes (dog to do it though) can they win it all - doubtful.

Not so fast my good friend wil, there are other not obvious scenarios. Motown wins #4, loses at Indy game #5, and elimination game is here. Game #6. That is the favored result as we speak. +2.50 on Pacers is ballpark series, and General, your 10-1 has been devalued, now 12 1/2-1 or more, because I am not looking, to win it all. This Pacer team is so weak at center and off guard. Where are the Lakers two best players?...I have some Pacers to win it all, I have the letters BB in Keno crayon written across it...Best Wsihes...OF

Pacers are out..everyone realizes that. All refs have been paid off in Detroit by the local mobsters..Even a few Chicago guys were in town to clean up after Detroits win. One Indianpolis bookie hit for over 900k...then whacked. Detroit then loses in 6 to lakers..all prearranged. Final score in 6th game lakers 179 detroit 178 in 5x overtime

AUBURN HILLS -- The Indiana Pacers know exactly what's wrong with their play against the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference playoff finals -- they can't make shots.

But figuring out a solution has been daunting, to say the least.

"Shot-making has become a larger-than-life issue in this series," said Indiana coach Rick Carlisle.

Especially for his team, which has made less than 35 percent of its shots from the field in each game against Detroit.

It's a big reason why Indiana has a 2-1 deficit in the best-of-seven series, and has the Pacers in a must-win mode heading into tonight's game.

"It's very important not to go down 3-1 in a best-of-seven series," said Indiana's Jonathan Bender. "We already know what we gotta do -- come out and play hard with a real sense of urgency and get this game."

And maybe most importantly, make some shots.

Detroit's defense has certainly played a role in Indiana's shooting woes, but the Pacers have had their share of uncontested scoring opportunities that they wasted.

"From the very outset of the game, we gotta be rock solid and precise at both ends of the floor," Carlisle said.

That's something all the Pacers know. But doing it, well, therein lies the challenge.

Pacers point guard Jamaal Tinsley has been hobbling throughout the series with a sore left leg injury, which may result in seldom-used veteran Kenny Anderson getting some playing time.

"He's struggling, there's no doubt," said Carlisle, referring to Tinsley. "He's not 100 percent, but on the other hand, he says he's OK."

If Tinsley gets off to another slow start tonight, Carlisle might play Anderson, who was instrumental in helping the Boston Celtics beat Detroit in the second-round of the playoffs two years ago.

"I don't know what's going on," said Anderson, who has yet to play in this series. "I'm just trying to keep myself ready."

Carlisle seems ready to stick with Tinsley and his backup, Anthony Johnson, but he wouldn't completely rule out going to Anderson.

"Kenny's ready to play," Carlisle said. "I know if he's called upon, he'll be ready."

The Pistons went nearly eight minutes on Wednesday without scoring a point, yet they managed to keep the lead during that time.

Detroit coach Larry Brown remembers the Pistons going through such offensive lulls when he coached the Philadelphia 76ers prior to joining the Pistons last June.

"I guess that's the way the team here goes," Brown said.

In an attempt to simulate what he will contend with tonight when 6-foot-9-inch Tayshaun Prince -- and his 7-2 wing span -- defends him, Ron Artest took jump shots Thursday in practice over a shortened broomstick held by Pacers assistant coach Chad Forcier. . . . The NBA fined Indiana's Reggie Miller $5,000 for kicking the game ball into the stands at the conclusion of Detroit's win on Wednesday.

repeat after me:

the wnba champ (east conf) has ZERO chance to beat the lakers - NONE! shrink, surfboard and i have been trying to tell everyone this for some time - and no one seems to listen. first off - the lakers would have HCA - and detroit will NOT win a game in LA - so that right there ends their chances. assuming we get an LA/Det matchup, it will be 2-0 lakers heading to detroit. in those middle 3 games, the lakers win at least 1. let's assume they only win one. this means they come hom UP 3-2. do you really think the pistons can beat the lakers in LA TWO TIMES! me, neither! i do agree the stones would be a tougher matchup than indy - but to think anyone other than the lakers will be the 2003-04 champs is stupid!

lakers in no more than 6 against detroit (lakers will be 3-1 after 4 games - the only question is who wins G5 - do the lakers want to win it on the road or at home - if they want to win it on the road - they will - and detroit can't do anything about it). if the lakers play indy - the series goes no more than 5 (lakers at worst split in Indy - then if they play 3 in LA - the lakers make nba history and become the first team ever to sweep the middle 3 at home) and if the lakers sweep it won't shock me.

Jermaine left court to have knee xrayed. Let's hope only a sprain, but when the man goes down, someone else has the chance to step up.
