Well its very easy and hard at the same time,
but here goes,

When playing casino games, you're going to go over what your original bank roll is, the trick.
TAKE IT AND WALK.

If you hit a jackpot, pack your bag and go VERY far from the place, if you're home, log off and go very far from a computer.

Whether its $10 ahead or $20 its better than $0.00

It seems easy, but, when you train yourself to do this you are going to be a winner.

And never come back? Is that what you're saying? I think it's funny how people say just leave when you're ahead a little each time and you'll do better. Does anyone really think you have a better winning expectation simply by playing, for example, 20 mins on 10 different days as opposed to 200 minutes on 1 day?

OK, then I gotta ask, assuming the aggregate play time is the same, do you think you'll do better in many short intervals as opposed to fewer but longer intervals? I can;t figure out how that would be the case. Actually when it comes to balckajck I like to do the opposite. I find myself to be pretty streaky so if I'm losing and don't have a good feeling about the table I'll just cut and run when I'm behind. But if I'm doing well I won't stop myself short, I like to let it ride and it usually works well that way. Of course I don;t think that has all that much merit either. The truth is it's the aggregate time you play coupled of course with the expectation (game, how you play, etc.) that you have. Whether it's 10 minutes 10 days or 100 minutes 1 day isn't going to matter in the long-run.

D2 is right on here. And if you try for the streaks, you will stop before you hit any. IMO, you are better off maximizing hot runs, and minimizing cold ones. Not much will change by chopping your own sessions. How many do you start, and never get up? What then? Best Wishes...OF

For those wishing to read a great book on this very subject, I recommend the classic book .....

Casino Gambling for the Winner by LYLE STUART

For those that love gambling, especially baccarat, this is a trully wonderful read.

It may surprise even the most astute gambler, but there is some reasoning behind why the above mentioned theory may not be an idea to just quickly condemn without giving more thought to.

Fish and Frog, hehe , sorry, thats too funny.....

anyway, I was mostly speaking of slots (and slot type ) games, but come to think of it, I would apply the same principle with the table games too, most gamblers will tell you of the invisible GLUE that keeps you there forever, have you never seem a guy/girl at a table/slots and they/you are doing WELL, and what happens, ha ha you lose ALL, down to the last drop.

Its inevitable, be wise, going home with YOUR bank roll, AND an additional 50/100/500 whatever, is a lot better than 0 dollars and logged in your mind, "man I was up XXX"
IMO

A lot of times, people gamble for entertainment. If you are up a small amount late in the day, it makes sense to walk away.

I am glad it is so funny, but can you control your laughter long enough to tell me, what do you do if you are never up? A session that is negative from the start? Best Wises...OF

Frog I was referring to the two replys I got,
from fish and frog get it?

anyway, this is where the "what i get back I dont put back" rule is active,

If you started out with $50 and say, you are playing the slots, anything you receive back you dont play it back,

EX: you play the $1 slots with a roll of $100.00
after you finished all your tokens, then in the credits its only $60.00, you cash out the $60 and walk away.

Ex: You are playing the $1 slots and before you are finished the roll you are up or win say $300 or $400, you also cash it out and Walk away.

I like to use a stop loss system like in the stockmarket.

Lets say I am going to quit if I lose $500. But in fact I go $200 up. Well now I will trail my "stop loss" by $100 say.

So if I hit a streak to $1,000 my stop loss is now at $900 profit.

however, all casino games are near zero or negative expectation except for roulette on a tilted table. So no fancy clever staking system can give you an expectation of a profit.

But at least they can take the emotional rollercoaster element out of it and TELL you when to stop.

It boils down to this, in negative expectation games, the maximum boldness approach is best, that is, one shot, all my money, I could beat you casino (that's why casinos have table limits, to protect themselves). Conversely, if you have the edge, minimum boldness is best, manage your money, grind them down. That's what the casino does to the players.

These methods are great for self-discipline but do nothing for the bottom line.

If you go to the casino and play one roulette spin per day for a thousand days or sit there in one session and play 1000 spins, your results will be the exact same.

No, the secret of successful gambling is knowing when you have an advantage, seizing that advantage, and then not letting the opponent I.E. casino/sport book get an advantage on you. Theoretically yes a 10 dollar win is a 10-dollar win, however few people have the stamina to be happy with winning ten dollars. The psychological nature of gambling is to win more, and create the illusion in one's mind: I will win allot and what I will do with the money. To most people ten dollars is nothing, and psychologically want to win something that they perceive will increase the quality of their lives. After all most are corporate slaves, that have no real control of their own lives, with being roped into acquiring the American dream by purchasing on credit. Then they are forced to work the rest of their lives, and have no real control of life and thus create the illusion that they are actually living a life.
