In my opinion it's a no brainer that he has to sit at least one and possibly two games for that flagerant elbow. In my opinion it's just like throwing a punch. Here's a 6'9 guy coming accross the face of a small guard. This was just as bad as the Peeler's punch on Kevin Garnett and he got two games. This act wasn't even provoked. I'd like to hear if people on the forum think my thinking is correct?
A flagrant foul is grounds for ejection. Reviewable by NBA league office, VP Stu Jackson. Looked clean to me. Should not have mouthed off to Laker bench with a twenty point lead. Took a few minutes to get laid out for that. Plus they did it to DFish all game long, he was the chosen one. Even wimpy Wally cheap shotted him. Dirty Minny just shoved Lakers around all game long. Messages were sent at the end, when it was decided, and they kept it up. Even the talking heads said that was a mistake. No team, I repeat, no team can get away with physical play like the Lakers...OF
Throwing a flagerent elbow into someone's face is a lot different than throwing it into someone's chest. If this elbow lands correctly,Minnesota's PG Martin is finished for the season. If you have been hit by an elbow to the face then you know this can be just as devistating as any punch. I thought because of the intent and place it was thrown that Malone would warrant a suspension.
I think Martin understood the message Karl sent. Old Karl knows what he can and cannot get away with. Not sure what is dumb or dumber, taunting the Laker bench after making a 3 with a 20 point lead and a few minutes left, or shoving Shaq after a whistle. Shaq is looking agile and quick. About 350lbs of unfriendliness. To say he was angry after that is an understatement. It is bad enough to target players with hard screens and picks. But to keep it up when game is decided, and taunt and cheap shot even more. These are not the Nuggets or Kings, the Lakers are very, very good about getting physical, stepping up to that we are bigger and meaner than you level. TWolves challenged them last night. Games in LA might be the dirtiest of the playoffs, yet, and all of the dirty series have had the TWolfs. This will be good...OF
