Two 24-17 teams meet up today in Arlington. But those records are a bit misleading. Texas is a sparkling 15-8 at home. They are also 8-2 vs. East, with 4 wins against Yanx/BoSox, no losses. The Yanx, 1 game over .500, 11-10, on the road. The Yanx send their worst starter, Contreras, to the mound, after a couple of starts feeding the cows and chickens in AAA Columbus. Before his farmwork he was getting blasted to the tune of over a run an inning. Last start, proceeding his farm visit, got simply demolished giving up 6 runs to the light hitting A's. Made it two innings, another bad start. The Yanx score a ton of runs for him, but that cannot last forever. Rangers send Drese to the hill, who is actually pitching quite well. Talk about quality starts, 6 starts, shortest 5.2, never more than 3 earned runs. This Texas squad appears more together without big shot A-Rod. Seem to have enough advantages here to take a small position. Coming from the farm, to start on the road in Texas, is indeed a tough spot. I am very skeptical Contreras actually worked anything out, and he had problems in his Columbus starts. Decent home dog +1.21, as I passed last night's game, waiting for this one, scared of Brown. Basketball looks like pass city so far, even props. Best Wsihes...OF

OF, you should try and share your insights in the sports forums. I am sure the cappers there would appreciate.

play looks good, Giambi should be out for a while with ankle injury...

On the downside, Drese has given up 18 runs and 19 hits in only a little over 8 innings against the bombers.. but different year, different pitcher.... good solid value play..

Most of the posters that would benefit from your analysis are in the sports rooms. It is no big issue, although we do not want every poster to post plays in the offshore room as we have rooms for sports picks. I see no harm in your insights here for now as long as many do not decide to do the same.

Pinny had -1.19 on Yanx for a bit, so probably +1.21 good price...I hope it is a nailbiter, even an OT game...Best Wishes...OF

Got lucky with an outstanding start from Drese to overcome shocking good start by Contreras, go figure. Still 8 innings 3 earned runs is a quality start to me. Great pitch count 85/55. Another no dec. 3 K's, but 0 walks. Keep an eye on this Drese. They got to Gordon, which is pretty amazing. Decent dog keeps streak alive, day 5. See nothing in NBA or NHL. Best Wishes...OF

Walk off HR for Rod Barajas - Couldn't happen to a better team than Yanks who have lost 2 in a row to the Rangers.

My pleasure Kermit, always willing to help out a fellow frog. Men LOB concerned me, but Gordon threw it all away, B9 HR in tie game, ie: walkoff, always a thrill. Wish I had more good stuff, but just want to watch this first Det/Ind game, and of course the game #7 NHL. Enjoy, hope you win the rest, I am done for day...OF

I had Texas today at +120, I saw the pitching matchup in Texas favor. Underated team as far as I'm concerned.Hopefully I can keep my 50/1 division bet alive.

Martinez won but not Pedro - making his major league debut, Anastacio Martinez got three outs to win in relief of Pedro Martinez and give Boston its sixth victory in eight games. Keith Foulke worked the ninth for his ninth save of the season and 23rd in a row. Manny Ramirez hit another long homer.

Rob - Anastacio was called up when Scott Williamson got hurt. I like Pokey a lot for the reasons you mention.

While I'd love to see the Rangers win the division, they just dont have the rotation to make it through 162 games.

This team will be battling it out with Seattle for 3rd place in the division come September.

I don't think their going to win it either, but how can you pass up 50/1. I do have the Angels bet pretty heavy to win it. I think Texas will stay well in front of Seattle, Seattle is pathetic
