Shaq averaged career lows in points and rebounds in an NBA playoffs series against Yao Ming and the rockets...

I'm not saying Ming can stop shaq, but I guess he's the only player in the NBA who can give Shaq some trouble...

look at tonight.. shaq is toying around w/ Minny centers.... 28 pts, 17 rebounds, where is KG? the rebounding beast? and all of a sudden KG disappeared... all his shots were outside jumpers.

i have to say, shaq is still the most dominant player, but he is really making basketball ugly....
he can't shoot further than 10 feet away from the bucket.
all he can do is dunk + baby hooking...

last year the spurs played LA tough cuz they had "twin towers" Robinson (8 time defensive first team) + Duncan, Robinson held shaq in cheque...
but look at this year, the white center from Russia, Rasho nest-tee. yew...

It does look that way. Plus the admiral had the refs respect. Nestor gets no respect. Dampier plays him well. But in the playoffs Shaq quits loafing. Yao will be better than Shaq, in a few years...Already better basketball skills. Shaq is just a monster Defensive lineman playing B-ball. Just have to figure out how to earn with him. Easy to earn against during regular season...OF

If Shaq was subject to the same rulebook as the rest of the league his non-hustling lazy ass would be slowed down by alot of players ...

but the NBA needs it's ratings, so fuk fairness - we'll just let the big terd walk, elbow, charge & push off at will.

It goes both ways. Shaq definitely bends some rules...but opposing players are shoving/pushing him too.

If they were pushing/shoving Shawn Bradley, it would be obvious...but against Shaq, the refs let it slide.

Shaq is just a freak of nature.......I don't think ANY rulebook could properly account for him. The guy is huge, strong, athletic...what are ya gonna do?

What annoys me more than Shaq's shoving and pushing is the painfully obvious 3-step rule.....

If you're driving to the basket, the refs will give you 3 steps...

It has basically become an unwritten rule...if an athletic player drives to the basket, the refs will give him an extra hop, an extra step, etc...

Then the player scores an amazing layup/dunk and the crowd goes wild.....nobody cares that he broke the rules in order to score.....

As you said, the NBA needs the ratings.....

I agree that they should call it both ways, but it needs to be done consistantly.

That idiot Madsen should get a foul everytime he puts that forearm shiver into Shaq in the paint. Likewise, when the big terd lowers the shoulder he should get rang up (regardless of what his little superstar foul count is at).

I only watch a few games because it disgusts me to see the superstars ALWAYS get the calls.

Shaq and the charge
Malone and the sissy slap defense
AI and his mega carry move
Artest and his constant shoving
Half the all star team and their travels
Ben Wallace and his over the back

and so on and so on

According to the Laker fans I know, that is a foul on Scot Pollard in that picture. Painfully obvious he is undercutting Shaq.

like the doug christie 3 in the last 2 minutes of gm 7. .he catches the ball just inside the arc, then takes a couple shuffle steps back without a dribble and knocks it down. this is in clear violation of the rules. . . if they dont allow all of this crap, the NBA will go the way of the NHL. the only game that seems to be able to stick around no matter what and always have the rules enforced is baseball, what a beautiful game. i learn to appreciate it more all the time.

Although I think Indiana advances I would like to see Ben Wallace go against Shaq in a 7 game series! Definitely a stronger player (PHYSICALLY) not dedicated to scoring but out to rebound and play D.

yup. true jim. as much as i like jermaine o'neal, shaq will have his way with him. ben wallace could take shaq out of the picture and make it a game. and just think, LA does not have half the transition game new jersy does. that piston team could tottaly shut down LA, they are the only team left that is as big and physical with as many outside shooters and playmakers. there is still hope LA will not win the title!!

Glad you mentioned hockey Rob ...

the constant obstruction has destroyed the game.

We can all thank the "Broad Street Bullies" for this "contribution."

Ben Wallace may be strong...

but he's only 6'7.... giving up 6 inches to shaq.

noway this undersized center can guard shaq one on one...

Officials must have these loose call options or they could not assist in the determination ATS as easy as they do.

wallace is a little taller than that, nbalive. . but your point is well taken

3 Ben Wallace PF 6-9 240 9/10/74 7 Virginia Union
30 Rasheed Wallace FC 6-11 230 9/17/74 8 North Carolina

and it was dennis rodman when he played for the bulls that completely owned shaq.

I noticed that. He took three baby-steps. But when I saw it, I was 100% sure the refs wouldn't call it. That's how bad the NBA refs have become. You can instantly predict what fouls/violations they WON'T call.

Final minutes of Game 7, important 3-pointer? No way in hell they're gonna call that.

Ben Wallace is 6-9 w/ his afro....
they're even saying he's just 6-6...

last time Danny Ainge interviewed him.
Danny's 6'4 i believe..
and Ben not much taller than Ainge...

no way he's 6-9
