Man he was dealing today, that breaking ball was falling off the table, and of course he has a good fastball, but he was tough today..

Sets the Brewers' record for strikeouts in a game....

Sheets was a highly thought of picture out of Northeast Louisiana (I think before the university's name change).

I believe he faced LSU in the regionals and had a good game, but LSU went on to win the game and the regionals (and super regionals as well).

Not taking anything away from Sheets - 18 strikeouts is a monumental feat - but he most certainly benefited from having the pitcher's favorite umpire in the game behind the plate, Doug Eddings. In games that he has been behind the plate the past 5 years, teams have averaged 2.85 strikeouts per walk. This is far and away the highest ratio of any ump currently in the game. 2nd place is not even close - 2.40 K's/BB by Phil Cuzzi. Just some food for thought for those that know how to use this information to their benefit.
