Future book. Lakers up to +300 some places. Isn't that a little high?

This team has shown that they can turn it on when they really need it. Talent wise, are they really worse than the Spurs? If Malone continues his tear, and Payton can somehow get his head out of his culo, why can't this team take the championship? 3-1 seems HIGHLY generous in my book.

I saw this coming. There was a shipload of Lakers futures early, after trades, after awesome start. Dropped to odds on. People holding that watched their value burst into flames. All of a sudden Spurs repeat history, close very strong. Books have numbers skewed for Lakers from early overestimation. Now you have books putting brakes on Spurs action, which is coming in from all angles. People hedging their devalued Laker futures, wise guys standing at door pouncing any Spur dog numbers anywhere. Pretty much saying this would happen for a week. As far as the actual matchups, Lakers in big trouble across the board. This early money is not coming from betting fools. I see Spurs as favored to win it all now, with Lakers 2nd choice. And that is with Lakers closing out Rockets in good fashion. As far as Malone, better check his career numbers against Tim. Complete bust. He had his season high against these weak PF's for Rockets. Did they have anything to make him D up, or size to bang with him. Now he gets to defend Timmy, bang with Malik, Nestor and Old pal Willis. Last time he started thug act, Pop brought in Willis, got Malone crying to refs, lost composure and T'd up. Kobe tried to settle him down. They lost, at home, what turned out to be homefield in this series. The glove? Parker drove right by him like he was glued to floor. Scored 30 or so. Lakers frontline in huge trouble here. Lakers bench, bad mismatch. They lost Horry to Spurs, oops. Who got better there. Who on Lakers bench match up with Horry, Ginobili, Rose or Willis. Slava, Goerge and Rush? Little Walton? Trying not to laugh here. Kobe gets a real defender this series. Shaq has been close to average, if not below with his FT's. Rockets lack of depth, immaturity did them in. Defense did play pretty good throughout series. Spurs have good depth, a much better defense, and a lot of rings. 3-1 is not a real bargain, without homefield, and a +1.30 series price, 2 series from finals. Sometimes paper teams turn out to be flammable. Lakers futures are in smoke right now. You want to add to the fire? Best Wsihes...OF

Robert Horry was the reason L.A. lost to the Spurs last year. Couldn't make a shot to save his ass. How quickly people forget.

Who matches up with Shaq? Rose, Willis? Easy to slant your whole post to one side, but need to be a little realistic. This series is a toss up.

Great Redneckman, love your observations. Horry is a career choke artist ok. Had one bad series against these Spurs. How was he lately? Memphis series? Let me help you 16-26 and 6-10 from 3 land. Yes what a bumb Horry is. Forget those 5 rings. Let me see, who can stop Shaq, Skinny inexperienced Yao played him tough. Now, you forgot or just did not know about Nesterovic, a legit 7 footer, 248. Does he have size, can he foul Shaq? Shaq goes to line for 2, his o/u is less than 1. Malik has always given Shaq trouble. and Willis can stick with him, just another 7 footer. 18 fouls there. Who is Lakers backup center? Please bring more to party if you want to pick my slanted posts apart. Best Wishes...OF

Yes Sir General, a threat to be swept. Series price still climbing, so apparently people investing there feel the Lakers just are not threatening. Luckily posttime is approaching and the debate will be settled. This should be good. Avs go back to San Jose with 1 goal, in OT at home in 2 games. Another paper squad. Sharks never made the papers without big names, who moves on? Best Wishes Sir...OF

Should be a great series. But you are right they ARE a threat. Never count out Phil Jackson.

Same Phil as last year? Has something changed? Phil too old to suit up. What team has prevented Phil from moving on for another ring. What a bummer for Phil to have to play this team in second round again. Hopefully for Phil, and Laker home fans the exit will not be at home, again. But last two elimination and homefield games, coached by Phil, against these same Spurs, were bad losses. In LA. Zenmaster has lost control of this squad. Phil looked like average Joe last series. Coaches job to forment team unity. I think Spurs have it down. Lakers have the what about me attitude. Sweep or 5 if Lakers win game #3. Is it Sunday Yet? Best Wishes...OF

Being from Austin, I'm a longtime Spurs fan. I had no idea it was going to be this easy to beat the Lakers. More I think about it though, Zen Man is a has been. Shaq will be easy to shut down. Kobe really doesn't know the game. Malone's a stiff. Payton's probably the best of the whole sorry lot. Who are we going to play in the next round?

No Jackson is not a hasbeen, not yet at least. Pat Riley fits that better. Shaq is not the unstoppable force he once was, but is still a handful, with one bad knee. Karl is the most consistent, never been a stiff, maybe cheap shot artist, thug, but no stiff. Payton is now an afterthought, especially in the late stages, moneytime, of a game. The Lakers just played the 5th place team in the Midwest, and were not very impressive. I am a Tim Duncan fan, just because of his demeanor and fundamentals. But I am a fan of value/money. Spurs have been good to me there. Spurs in 4, 5 if Lakers win #3. TWolfs are up next. NBA bigwigs, especially my buddy david told me that was the marquee matchup they were looking for. Timmy vs. Kevin. Always been a great matchup, I will watch. So, no wishy washy predictions here. TWolfs are next. Best Wsihes...OF

Based on my predictions of values changing I bought opened end, (speculated) that Lakers no would jump. Bought a lot near -2.00, a lot less than and a little more than. I felt I was just capitalizing on an overrated fave, bought down way to low, way to early. Timing is everything, and I could scalp or hold, what would you do Wil? OF

Let the -2.00 ride, I don't see the Lakers winning three series (Spurs, T-Wolves?, Pacers/Pistons) in any event.

A little cocky no? How about a little wager? If you are so sure, we at Rio will offer you a free dinner for two at Eddie V's on 5th st., downtown Austin if you guys are lucky enough to sweep the Lakers. You guys sweep the Lakers, and you get dinner for two on behalf of Rio International with a max. dinner tab of $500.00

I actually am from Austin, and that is my favorite steak house! Upper management might not like my proposition, but it is only $$$. Root for the sweep, and your are dining large on Rio International.

If you win, contact Keith at rio and let him know Rio shill promised you the comp dinner.

Rio, you're a good man, an asset to your company.

Guess I need to repost this,

The remarks were strictly tongue in cheek. I thought that was somewhat apparent. Sorry. OF is the man you want. He's predicting sweep or in five. I think it's going to be a war.
