When one takes the position to use much of their time discrediting another poster or another website, then the stock they hold themselves becomes less valuable I think.

These type of individuals set out to achieve some mischief goal and usually to satisfy an agenda, but in the end I believe the light will come on and inside their mind they will finally achieve the maturity to realize that for every effort that they take to do good it is offset by their efforts to discredit or slander another person or organization.

The truth and dignity behind these individuals comes to the forefront. Many can talk a good game, but in their dissection of others they lose respect quickly by the slander that they throw at others.

I am a forum/posting junkie, and if there is anything I have learned it is to respect all and find the good that they offer. Focusing on the positive and shying away from the negative.

I find it very hard to respect someone who spends their time and uses whatever creativity they may have to try and spotlight negativity about others.

Do you agree with this statement?

Feel free to share your opinions.

Thanks & best of wishes

I'd just like to know why all of the little icons/smileys stopped working for me when I come to this website. I'm using Mozilla 1.6.

I recently switched to Mozilla Firefox. About 80% of the smileys don't work for me. Didn't know it was a browser issue.

I don't think the icons are a browser issue completely, we changed servers last week, and since then have had some problems with some icons. I understand it is being repaired.

lol general. i agree with what you are saying but as you know, the people who are trying to discredit others always say they are doing it to protect the posters.

Seems to me that more than half the responses to this topic should be moved to a new thread: "Who can't see his smiley?"

As for discrediting sites or other posters, that is somewhat inherent in a forum that is used as a watchdog. I think the General should have qualified his post with something like, "posters that attempt to discredit others, for the purpose of advancing their own goals are bad, but those who shed light on actual misconduct are good".

What mother's now teach their kids: "If you don't have something nice to say, then say it in an online forum."

This type venue brings out the best/worst in individuals (keyboards are well known for injecting testosterone!!!!!) The point where the slander and disrespect begins reflects a -450 one is running low on intellectual gas!

This is what I was always taught to...Why hurt people ? It is beyond me treat people with respect and MOST LIKELY you will get that respect returned

That's what I've always respected about the Shrink. Oh sure he will debate you tough but he doesn't go on hateful binges like other sites and posters.

I've been guilty of not ignoring the hateful types. I think the forums would be better for everyone if we just ignored those posters.

Ignoring trash is as easy as getting out of bed Buzzsaw. For those who thrive on hate, I wish them success as well, but by focusing on hate, they are their own worst enemy.
