41 year old Roger Clemons pitched another excellent game tonight against the Marlins. Clemons pitched 7 full - allowing 2 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, and stuckout 11. Astros lead 4-1 in bottom of 8th. Should they hold on it will make Roger 7-0 with an era of close to 2.00 with 52 Ks in 7 starts for the year. WOW.

But how can you not root for this to continue? He makes it look so easy , I hope his legs hold up, because his arm has plenty left in it!

who knows , maybe he`ll pitch 3 more years and go after 350 wins

Rocket has 317 wins now, next up on list is Phil Niekro at 318, then Don Sutton and Nolan Ryan at 324, then Steve Carlton at 329 all reachable this year. He may have a shot at Warren Sphan's 363 wins (5th Best all time he needs 46 wins), if he sticks around.

Facing Florida once again, Roger Clemens smothered the Marlins with the type of performance the New York Yankees wished they had seen in the World Series.

Clemens became the first seven-game winner in the major leagues this year, striking out a season-high 11 in leading the Houston Astros over the World Series champions 6-1 Tuesday night.

When he last faced the Marlins in Game 4 of the World Series, Clemens got a no-decision in what he said would be the finale of his major league career. The 41-year-old right-hander then changed his mind and signed with his hometown Astros.

He hopes to face the Marlins again in the postseason.

''October has a nice ring to it,'' Clemens said. ''I hope to have revenge on someone this October.''

Clemens (7-0) allowed only three hits, including a solo homer to Ramon Castro, over seven innings for his 317th victory.

''He's been pitching lights out,'' Houston's Craig Biggio said. ''It's fun just sitting out in center field and watch him set up hitters the way he does.''

Not only is he the only 7-0 pitcher, how often has someone been 7-0 on May 11 in baseball history?

Can`t be many...
