Ken,
There was a coaches clinic out here this week and I am watching the roulette tables when lo and behold a guy walks up with a clipboard and an Old Dominion basketball shirt. Well, I got to talking to him (his eyes widened when I said "Go Big Blue") a little about the upcoming season. Turns out he was one of OD's assistant coaches and he was shocked that a Vegas native knew so much about the Monarchs. Needless to say, my time on the Peninsula helped on the discussion.
Well, he was extremely excited talking about the new recruit coming in from Australia. I told him I was upset because ODU beat out my school (LMU) for him. Seems they both had Aussie connections, but I guess the Loughton connection won out. It doesn't look like they've been this excited in Norfolk since the Mario Mullen-Petey Sessoms days. I hear the Convocation Center is a heckuva home court, but then anything could top the cavernous Scope. I told the coach best of luck in the CAA and hope the Monarchs are dancing come next March.
Just wanted to pass this along.

Yes Doberman!

I have heard the same thing as ODU has not gotten themselves another great recruit to go with Loughton!

They only lost 2 seniors last year out of 12 players and neither one of them was that good!

Guy was pretty impressed by my CAA knowledge. Actually I'm a big Tribe fan because my parents went there and a good friend went to the school Tony Shaver coached at. He's one helluva coach and they got a German/Nigerian kid (shooting guard) who was supposed to be a steal. If anyone can win at W & M it's Shaver, but with the academics there it is a huge uphill battle.
