I used to race in NY Roosevelt raceway monticello...great tracks....top driver in harnesss racing was the nicest guy but degenerate gambler...used to love to finish second...u could swear he was trying only to lose by a head or neck...Herve Filion..was barred just recently for 3 years in The USA...3 Top drivers from Northfield Park in Ohio Barred for stiffing in super races and tris....just recently.....Going rate is $300 for most small track drivers to exclude their mount from a tri or super race....Lets not be naive this is all business not sport. If u think racing is legit u should have your head examined. Only races worth say 15k and up(purse) are 90% contseted relatively on the up and up.Between the drugging ,stiffing, insider set ups and trainer manipulation all racing is approx 30% fixed...3 of every 10 races rigged...The game is beat the bettor...Only one thing worse online blackjack...this is a total scam....software companies actually set the rate of return in their programs from 5% to 200%....You can win $100 but you will lose $500 twice for every $100 you win....Also the game can be set on gegrees of difficulty by the books themselves. If they have a poor quarter they will take every dollar bet or at least 80%.The random number generators are there but in many instances certain cards are actually omitted from play...to favor the book. There are no watchdogs looking over the online games so the fox is in charge of the henhouse.

Just curious how or where did you come up with 30 percent of races are fixed? Not doubting you but where could you find such info?I know a racing secretary at a harness track once I asked him how much he thought this stuff was fixed and he told me not as much as people think.

Rich Styles,
You are correct bout races being fixed! I had a friend who worked at Monticello and gave me MANY winners! Jocks talk in the jockey room on what to do during certain races! One night he gave me 8 out of 10 winners by standing in the paddock and listening and pointing a certain # of fingers for the winner!. Also I would stand near the 100$ window at the Meadowlands cause a buddy of mine use to work at that particular window and use to clean up on certain plays! Yes Meadowlands is a fixed track for certain races just like any other! Hey how long ago did you race at Monticello?? Do you know Eddie Hysell?? If so where is he now?? I use to love Roosevelt Raceway!

The world would be a whole lot better if everyone

If 24% of thoroughbred races were fixed, we would be out of business.

miked429, your info is incorrect about Herve Filion. Saw him driving at Dover Downs 3-4 weeks ago.

I have heard the same about harness racing at the Meadowlands. Hand signals from inside the track and/or the jockeys signal to runners in the crowd.

I've heard it from too many different people now to dismiss the claims.

Lester,
Trust me on this one it happens all the time! Drivers hold their whips a certain way during warmups to signal certain people at the fence which way to go!

Rich,
You forgot to mention the handicapping contest you and your degenerate buddies fixed at Northfield Park around 1989... How long did it take those guys to blow the money? Did it last a week?
Hard to believe it only costs $300 at a small track to exclude a horse.
Herve was out for longer than 3 years. He is not a factor now at Pocono and Dover.
The dishonesty likely goes down as the purse increases.
Monticello still cards races for $1200, same as 10 years ago. Who would not cheat??

Ibeen beating harness racing for 40 years dont even want to hear about a fix race all you do is over bet because you think you have a edge most are uder layed horse racing is a value game if you follw the money and get underlayed day after day and let other people make your choices you have no chance . Right now is the best time in history to bet horses rebates offshore books that dont go you into pools . finger Lakes race if that was a fix race every race is fixed because halfof the trainers jocks driver think they can win

If horseracing is so crook ed why before rebates about 1or 2 people out of 500 win now with rebates about 5 out of a hundred win if they are playing with a rebate because they can break even and win

Could be true that 30% of all harness races are fixed, don't know but I doubt it. Approximately 33% of all favorites win at all tracks worldwide. When that number changes by a certain margin an investigation starts. The same for place and show but don't recall what the % is for them.

In your mind what defines a fix in my mind it must win with collusion If it does not that is horseracing

30% is complete bullshit and complete nonsense. Almost as silly as saying all races are ran fair & honest.
