I have two trade offers, guy is offering me Reggie Sanders for either Todd Helton or Eric Chavez.

I also have Jim Thome and Mike Lowell, whom Id rather start instead of Helton or Chavez....

My outfield is: Guerrero, Podsednik and Steve Finley. Jose Guillen (on the bench)

As you can see my OF is not all that impressive...Sanders could help me at OF, should I go ahead and accept either one of the trades and if so, who?

Thanks

Slim

Slim, Chavez is a Punch&Judy man on a team that can't protect him very well in the order, where as Helton blows up when he really ignites, plus has the Heat of summer coming in Coors.

I would look to keep Thome, Lowell, and Helton by far over Eric Chavez..can Sanders keep it up all year?..But as you say, your OF isn't going to win it for you without some moves.

Slim, what are you guys high to in Hoops?..GL!

I would not take Sanders. You would be "buying high" on him. Sanders is a huge injury risk every year. I would hold on to Helton and Thome, starting Helton every home game no matter what. What FA outfielders are available?

Heavy: IND Pacers
Slightly heavy: Minnesota, both games going over.

Fair, I think Sanders numbers right now are inflated to reflect his hot start but should decrease to what they are every year which is why I dont know about going after him....

Are you in a head2head league, or allyear?

In either case, you should be starting Guillen and Guerrero together at all times.

Fantasy baseball offense is a mathematical exercise.

Any time you can combine two good players from same team who ALSO hit within a couple spots in the batting order, you gain a significant edge.

With such a Combo, a single action can result in multiple points for your FBB team.

Say Guillen is batting behind Guerrero and drives him in. That single event causes both a Run and an RBI. Not to mention if Guillen hits a HR with Guerrero on base.

Much like having a QB/WR combo in FFB.

My current FBB team has 13 guys on offense with 4 "combos". So far I am winning at least 3 or 4 offensive categories out of 5 each week.

all year rotisserie *sp*....

interesting concept......although if you revert the situation and think that most nights a team will score very few if any runs, then you have two players going "O for" in any given category....

what combos do you have so I can take a look at em statistically?

Thanks.

Rob, that does sound like a good trade for you, if and only when Garret Anderson comes back though, you have any info on him? Is he for sure coming back this week or whats up?

Slim - I still wouldn't do it. 3B's are much harder to get than OF's. When someone's 3b goes down, then offer Chavez.

Why would you trade Helton? he is struggling now but a proven superstar. He will have huge #'s at the end of the year.

yup randy, Im not saying I would, just that he was in a trade request, Im not getting rid of him any time soon, more interested in perhaps moving Chavez but it looks like that doesnt have much support either.

I think Ill hold on to Chavez.....unless someone brings in an appealing argument as to why Reggie Sanders is going to stay on fire all year

SLIM, yes, the Combos need to be from teams that score well...but most all teams have 3-5 guys doing the bulk of scoring anyway.

As for me, I'm a Head2Head league and so far so good...4th place, out of first by 1.5 games.

The combos I have are:

M Sweeney, J Gonzalez KC
M Young, H Blalock Tex
S Sosa, M Alou Chicago

And I also had C Crawford, J Cruz from Tampa Bay, which worked well in Week 1-2, but Cruz just utterly collapsed in past 3 weeks, so was just cut.

So right now I also have

V Castilla, C Biggio, two catchers Pudge and Barrett(CHC)..and M Tejada.

I'd like to get some kind of swap going within a few weeks to team one of them up...Best shot right now is maybe Bagwell or J Lopez...but ya never know.

Oh, the idea of course is to have at least 4 Combos and you run at least 3 of them out most days based on where they're playing and opposing SP.
