Would some of you sharp NBA players please explain this number to me. Miami was around +1800 or so to win the entire EAST during the series with New Orleans (now +3300 at Pinny). I'm quite perplexed.

D2bets, Your thought process has been warped by ripoff books that only lower, and lower and lower the line. The Heat no doubt had a lot of backing during the season and the line was lowered. Now all the money is pouring in on the Pacers, Pistons, and Nets. The Heat have not gotten any play so the line on the Heat has risen.

I realise some don't like going by the numbers but...

Indiana at 36-7 is tied for NBA's best home record. (25-18 ATS home favorite) Miami at 13-30 has the worst road record of any team making the playoffs. (19-19 ATS away dog.) Indy has defeated Miami last nine meetings, by an average of 13.3 ppg. This season, Indy won at home by 6 and 7, and at Miami by 22 points, but that was reg-season. The Pacers rate a big experience edge. Miami has no players to counter the Pacers' front line.

Lay the 11 in game one?

Well, Miami had an awful start to the season, but they did finish up going 17-5 in March and April. I don't think their overall record is reflective of how good they were at the end of the season and currently. I'm not saying they will win the series, but I think they have more of a shot than the oddsmakers are giving them.

D2bets. Good point. How do you see game one? Miami comes off going 0-3 (SU & ATS) at so so 43-44 New Orleans.

Partly it can be explaines away in the ridiculous amount of juice that most of the firms (pinnacle excepted) charge for futures bets that they cannot get away with for a series price.
