Red Sox pitching staff currently in the midst of tossing 32 scoreless innings in a row!

Meanwhile, Derek Jeter is struggling in a career worst 0-32 slump.

Jeter at 0 for 32 is not close to the Major League record for longest hitless streaks in a season. That record belongs to Bob Bhul who went 0-for-70 in 1962 with the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Braves. Another quirk regarding Jeter - He has gone 4,957 at-bats in his career without a grand slam. Eric Young led that list among active major leaguers with 5,532 at-bats through Wednesday. Jeter takes a .161 average into Thursday night's game against Barry Zito and the Athletics. Jeter has done well vs. the former Cy Young winner, going 7-for-16.

ScottyS - you must be talking about 1963 when 32's Sandy Kaufax, and Elston Howard won MVP Awards in MLB. Jim Brown would be another 32 although Y.A. Tittle was NFL MVP in 63. There was not a prominient number 32 in the AFL in the early 60's.
