lakers got by rockets easily????

NO....

their 4-1 win was very misleading..

houston could have won if they had better guards. or at least a REAL POINT guard.. francis is a total joke... and mobley is garbage.... these two guards combined for like what? 40 turn overs in 5 games. sick.

the first game, houston up by 2 with less than a minute left... stupid francis fouled shaq intentionally (uncalled for) why????

yeah shaq is a bad free throw shooter, but he's like a career 54% FT shooter, you put him on the line, is like giving them 1 point, whereas the rox held the lakers to low 30s in FG that game... why take your chance?

pivotal 4th game. rox had 4 points lead with just over a min left. yao fouled out and gave up 3pts play to old malone. then the houston guards started self-distruction again...

first jackson gave the ball to kobe, gave up two points. then francis missed 1 out of 2 FTs, and on the next possesions, first he shot an air-ball (that's like a turn over too) then on the next one, francis just turned the ball over from over-dribbling (nobody near him with in 10 FT) sick...

rockets are arguably the worst western team in the playoffs. yet the lakers having trouble finishing them off.

wait till they meet the real challenge.
a well-disciplined spurs who do not give you freebies down the stretch..

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

The other thing to consider is the Lakers ALWAYS play to the level of their competition. Why do you think the lolly gag for 3 quarters let alone the entire season.

I highly doubt the Lakers get blown out 4-1 in the series. I'm sure we'll be in for a real entertaining matchup.

Wow, great post. I like NBA2005. Yes, Francis is out of control. VG has exit papers waiting. Rockets worst Western team in playoffs. Yes. Rocket guards melted down several times. In OT, boy did that cost me, and game #1. Choke artist Jim Jackson also contributed to those losses by 1, missing wide open J, 2, did no realize game was tied and dribbled out clock. Wow. These games were very close, almost every quarter, against a marginal opponent, at best. Spurs better than Rockets everywhere except center, and 4 deep instead on 1. Spurs can win uptempo, or slowdown. Halfcourt or transition. An awesome team from a very small market. Defense wins championships, and the Lakers do not comprehend the word team. Spurs hold teams to very difficult shots, which Kobe is willing to force. No Mobley this time. Kobe, meet Mr. Bowen, being seeing a lot of him. Karl, had fun with Cato, old pal Tim, ready to extend your career failures against him. Shaq on one good knee. Prove you can make ft's. These games, if what I am seeing is not a mirage, is these games will not be close like the Rockets series. The Lakers will not eke out a road victory, by having the home team self destruct. Step up is not strong enough. Jump up is more like it. Lakers outclassed here, sweep or 5 if game#3 Lakers win. Best wishes...OF

I am a Laker Fan, and I think Lakers will need 7 games to beat the Spurs (If they beat them)

Boy would I love to come back read the thread again in a few weeks, if Lakers win.
Nothing but love!

Lakers did what they had to do to beat the so so Rockets. They'll step it up for the rock solid Spurs. Both teams know what to expect, they're very familar foes.

Only thing getting bumped is Spurs. Spiro's opener of 3 1/2, now 5 at Pinny. -1.06 Series at Pinny now -1.60. I have been ranting for weeks, the Lakers should not be favored. Well, nice 50 cent move was not too far off. Should be Sunday already. Game #1 should set the tone. I will be here.Best Wishes...OF

lol...

gentlemen, this is like the NBA finals right here...

whoever wins here will get the rings...

both spurs or lakers have home court over kings, and wolves won't present any problems to either. KG's happy to just get by the first round! (after choking up 6 or 7 yrs in a row. )

East? come on... they are like from the minor league.

Wolfs scare me. Have homefield over both. Always present problems with Spurs. I think last Spurs loss to them. Plus, if the Lak/Spu get tough, TWolfs may rollover Kings. Last 5 been won by either, so if that continues, this is it. East scares each other, not the West. 3-1 dog now. Indy/Det series could be brutal. All I need right now is Spurs game #1. I honestly do think that. This series has had sweeps before, in the playoffs. I think 3 out of last 4. Not sure if they met 5th time. I have time let me look it up. Best wishes...OF

1999 Spurs 4-0
2000 no series
2001 Lakers 4-0
2002 Lakers 4-1
2003 Spurs 4-2
No 7 game series. only last year's over 5. I will take Spurs in 4 and 5. Does not seem so funny to me...OF

Omnivorus Frog,

What was you prediction last year, when the Spurs played the Lakers in the playoffs?

I had the Spurs to go all the way, at 17-1. However, the Lakers showed much better than Spurs early, first round, value plummeted. I honestly thought Spurs in 7. To win on the road, as convincing as they did in Game #6, was a shock. Seemed like a turning point or changing of the guard game. Opposite this year, Lakers lost all value with crummy first round showing, Spurs dominant. That is what I factor in for my prediction. Some other factors of course, but 4 or 5 just seems logical. Best Wishes...OF
