I don't want to sound like the voice of doom and gloom. BUT, lately have given some thought to betting the horses offshore. I'm a big horseplayer, maybe not in terms of dollars wagered, but in terms of steady wagering, which I do with either YouBet.com or at one of the local otb places in this area.
While--I think it's ok that the offshores offer it, I can't help but think that their offering rebates and even advertizing on the radio about it (1310 Am--an ESPN station in the Tidewater area) will not help their overall cause. I mean the one ally that we who play sports on-line have had for years has been the Horse Racing Industry in keep the goverment from passing a TOTAL ban. This offshore rebates and advertizing can't help their cause long term . IMHO

The world would be a whole lot better if everyone

You really nailed it here sir. I have friends who have off-shore hubs, and they are totally concerned about exactly what you are talking about. the greedy morons who are engaging in what you are talking about are likely to implode the whole business. My friends who are low-key and try to fly under the radar may really get f...ed by these guys who want to be high profile. Hopefully the guys who fly straight, and under the radar will be allowed to continue. I was always taught that high-profile spells disaster. If these guys get this stuff terminated everyone will get hurt as rebates are the distinction between winning and losing for a lot of professional horse gamblers.

Pinnacle may have crossed THAT line. I don't know what other media markets they are advertizing in besides Tidewater Va. But thiw WILL draw unwanted attention.

I hear nothing but good things about Pinnacle--but they may be stepping "out there" with this advertizing!
Why-Oh Why!
