Without a fastball, currently about as fast as a Jim Palmer comeback fastball, there just is not even seperation between his offspeed stuff and his not so hot heat. Just got ripped again, very lucky to get no L. 10 hits, 6er in 6 innings getting him closer to the other why am I on this staff Contreras. He is the double digit ERA guy. That is not a good stat to be double digit. But back to the point, his mechanics, delivery, everything looks right, just no velocity. I heard he might be the ace, or just behind Brown. I have never seen him get hit so hard, so often. BP most of the time, when the guy used to routinely throw 3 and 4 hit outings. Almost everyone at least makes contact. You know RPM, that is exactly what I thought. Maybe it is mental, as he thinks he has to throw it. Guy has great start out of gate last year. I do not buy the bad sushi demise. Something is wrong, just cannot put a finger on it yet. He is not the same guy. Not sure when he started to drop, I remember last year, after All Star break, he got shelled real bad by losing streak O's. Really thought he had a long career with so many pitches.
