Sports Illustrated is 41 weeks into a series entitled "The Poll" in which it details the high points in the sports history of each of the 50 states, but it has yet to publish its findings for Nevada.
So we're going to help out the magazine's editors. We're going to make their lives easier.
We're going to give them the answers and tell them what they need to know about Nevada's shining stars in the world of sports.
We'll even throw in poll percentages where applicable, just as they do, albeit without the benefit of actually taking a survey.

Matt Williams
The Carson City native was an All-America shortstop at UNLV and set a team record with 58 career home runs before taking his powerhitting act to the major leagues, where he led the National League in home runs in 1994 with 43 for the San Francisco Giants.
Greg Maddux
A sure Hall of Fame pitcher when he retires, he's back with the Chicago Cubs after 11 stellar seasons with the Atlanta Braves and four Cy Young awards.
Andre Agassi
One of the greatest players in tennis history, Agassi continues to excel on the men's tour while adding to his reputation and popularity as a philanthropist.
Jerry Tarkanian
The cornerstone of the development of the UNLV basketball team as a national power, his teams won 509 games and lost 105 in 19 seasons of coaching the Rebels.
Randall Cunningham
Still UNLV's career passing leader with 8,020 total yards, he led the Rebels for three seasons, capped by an 11-2 record in 1984, before becoming the 37th pick in the 1985 draft and playing in the NFL for 17 years.
